Medivet Beckenham were excellent when my cat suddenly fell ill. As this is my designated out-of-hours clinic, I went there during a very worrying time, and I’m so glad I did. The team were incredibly thorough with their examinations, clearly explained everything to me, and talked me through all the available options. Thanks to their care and professionalism, they were able to reach a diagnosis and help get my cat back to good health. They also handled my insurance claim entirely on my behalf, which made a stressful situation so much easier. I barely had to do anything, and the claim was paid out within just two weeks. The staff were friendly, professional, and genuinely empathetic throughout. I couldn’t fault the service at all. A brilliant team that I would trust again without hesitation and highly recommend to others. Thank you!

I was automatically referred to this practice as an emergency out-of-hours case from my vets yesterday morning (Sunday 8th March), as my guinea pig, Fizzy, had stopped eating Saturday evening. I was feeding him with Oxbow Critical Care by syringe every 4 hours (including getting up in the middle of the night to feed him). My first impression of the practice was that the reception area was divided into two sections for dogs and cats only, and there was no mention of small animals, which alarmed me as I was seeking treatment for a guinea pig. The vet was helpful and friendly - he gave my guinea pig a thorough examination and gave him an emeprid injection. The vet told me my guinea pig had a chest infection/possibly pneumonia and needed to be injected with anti-biotics. However, after checking their stock, the vet then told me the surgery had run out of injectable anti-biotics, and they only had oral anti-biotics, which he told me would be dangerous for a guinea pig. The vet advised me to take him home, keep him warm and take him to my vet the next morning (Monday). Unfortunately my guinea pig deteriorated that afternoon and died. I'm annoyed that a surgery that provides an emergency out-of-hours service had run out of the injectable anti-biotics that could have saved my guinea pig's life!

Horrible place do not trust these people with your beloved pets!!! They only care to make money off your vulnerability and charge ridiculous amounts for the lack of care and effort. My cat was rushed in urgency too this practice on Wednesdays night, the vet showed no emotion to the situation and tried to charge me up to 5k. The neglect my poor baby was left in they hadn't even cleaned his cage while he had urinated as he was in so much pain & agony, and all that was said was "mind the smell" this is animal NEGLECT. They have charged me over 2k for MINIMAL care and EFFORT. Over £400 for "surgery" which was stitches that could easily fall out at any time. I am actually sickened in the condition my cat was trusting them to leave him in their hands for 2 nights. My cat needed to be referred to a specialist for immediate surgery and they said the total cost will be 5k on top of the 2k I have already paid. It's ridiculous for the lack of effort & care they do! I was initially told my cat was getting food through a feeding tube up his nostrils as he has broken his jaw then the next day to be told there was no feeding tube & he hasn't been fed for 48 hours. This is insane completely telling me one thing so I'm a little more reassured and then telling me the truth of things. I have heard 2 times from the receptionist and the vet mentions of "maybe it's better to send him to heaven" which is so unprofessional to say & also he is not in a position that requires that AT ALL. Fortunately I have found a charity vet in east London which is giving my cat the most support and ACTUALLY HELPING HIM. The vet at this charity even asked me what have they actually done. He will thank lord recover from this, however I cannot believe the lack of care & effort this practice has for animals. I am so glad I have taken him away from that place & found a better practice who actually cares and has charged me 1.2k for the surgery blood tests & any antibiotics and supplements he needs!! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET IN THEIR HANDS. THEY DON'T CARE!

We are registered at Medivet Sidcup and after calling beckenham in the evening due to sidcup being closed, they immediately got us an appointment within the hour. We were seen almost immediately once there. Our vet was called Tandi, and we couldn’t be happier with the service she provided us. She was so warm and welcoming, kind to our kitten and would definitely recommend to friends and family! Thank you Tandi🫶🏼

Everyone at the practice is very nice and caring. It’s sometimes difficult to book the same vet each time, which makes it hard when you have a pet with a continuing problem to recognise changes/improvement.

The only downside is how expensive everything is.
How about a reduction for pet owners with multiple pets? Or a loyalty scheme?
