The Burton on Trent practice still maintains the feel of a private practice (wholly down to the staff I should add), which is a good thing, but is beginning to move towards the feel of being part of a larger / corporate entity, which is undesirable for us.
I guess once (we don’t believe the question is ‘if’) this transformation is complete we’ll be looking for another practice or reconsidering whether we continue with pet ownership beyond our current dog.

Would be better if waiting room and car park was bigger. But cannot fault the staff.

I just took one of our dogs across for her 6 month health check as part of her health plan. Our usual vet wasn’t on it was stand in vets who were very nice but I do prefer to see our normal vet as Millie seemed very nervous which hasn’t happened before so the check wasn’t a great success. But we do enjoy going to this vets as they are very friendly.

I have a few issues which I had never had before and I won’t put them as it would identify me but the two receptionists that were on were quite unpleasant and unhelpful. I had never seen them before. It is normally Jess on reception. Jess is lovely. These two needed some serious lessons in how to be pleasant. The vet I think was new and she was pleasant but I wouldn’t have a lot of confidence in her if it wasn’t just simply for vaccinations. She didn’t do 90% of the health check. She didn’t even weigh her. They normally look at their eyes, in their ears and mouth but she didn’t do any of those things either. The only thing she did was use her stethoscope. She forgot about the kennel cough vaccine too. She was pleasant but probably not experienced. I like this little practice because it is normally friendly.
