Meet our Partner, Paisley Caunt

I’m Paisley, the Partner at Medivet Matlock. With over a decade of experience in veterinary medicine, I’ve learned that while medical protocols are standard, pets and their owners never are. I truly enjoy the puzzle of tailoring a treatment plan that fits the specific needs of your family. Beyond general practice, I hold a Certificate in Small Animal Medicine and currently pursuing advanced qualifications in Ophthalmology – I have a particular soft spot for helping our patients see the world more clearly! My goal is to become a familiar, trusted face for the Matlock community. When I’m not in the clinic, I’m usually kept on my toes by my husband and our two young sons. When I find spare time, you’ll usually find me with my horses or out riding—my favourite way to unwind.

I have always been extremely pleased with the service at your practice and my dog George absolutely loves coming, and that is due to the staff who have always made a fuss of him.
There is always been the personal touch, for example when I ring you know me and especially my dog whom I’m calling about ( Also when you see him ).
And I always think the staff go above and beyond their care.
Which to me means the world, has he is my world, and it shows you all care.
Thank you xx

I have always rescued animals and have 2 dogs & 3 cats who I treat holistically, but have been struggling with fleas, as all the usual stuff has stopped working, and my cats won't stomach the 'Billy no mates' which I find great for my dogs. Then when 2 of my cats developed Feline hyperesthesia syndrome (FHS), or "twitchy cat syndrome", I was floored. I managed to get one of them over it with lots of love/attention & remedies, but the other more neurotic one, no joy. So, when I saw they were offering a 1st visit free I jumped at the chance. Paisley was absolutely lovely & patient both with my holistic treatment of my animals and my poor Rag dolls. I thought Paisley was fabulous and the best vet I've ever seen. I look forward to seeing her again tomorrow with the rest of my brood. I highly recommend her & her practice to everyone!!! Thank you Paisley et al

Paisley (vet) treats my 7 dogs. 2 have been spayed, one has fits and one has chronic ear problems. She has also euthanised my very elderly dog with great compassion and put both myself and Coco at ease. I cannot recommend Paisley enough, I trust her expertise completely but more importantly, my dogs trust her!

We are currently on an 8 week road trip and away from our usual vet who is part of the Medivet network. We called into Medivet Matlock for a repeat of antibiotics for an abscess which they readily sorted for us. But the Vet (Paisley) also reviewed our notes and gave us an opinion on possible treatment for our dog’s Kidney condition. They ordered us in some medication which we picked up a couple of days later. We were so grateful for the no fuss, no drama, nothing is a problem attitude of this practice which appears to be an ethos shared by their reception team too. Honestly it was a complete dream liaising with them.

I made the vet aware that our dog was very frightened of vets due to a bad experience when she was spayed. I suggested she would be more comfortable if I held her and I was told abruptly to put her on the table. She didn't interact with our dog and proceeded to shave her foot with clippers, to expose the swelling, which made our dog cry in pain loudly and she said at least twice more to put her on the table! We now have to start over with desensitising her! Not at all happy with the service we received with the exception of booking the appointment and the receptionist who was lovely!

We were given a diagnosis of probable throat cancer that left us absolutely devastated. Upon referral to the specialist at East Midlands Medivet it appeared that the diagnosis was incorrect as there was no lump present at all. Consequently we had 24 hours of absolute heartbreak for no reason, plus it cost us over £300 in total.
This isn't the first time that we have felt let down by this vet practice.
