Veterinary Surgeon

Cecile qualified at Maisons-Alfort, near Paris, in 1996 and worked for several years around Paris, sharing her time between general practice and oncology. She moved to the UK in 2011 to widen her skills in oncology at the Royal Veterinary College in London before returning to general practice. Cecile has her heart set on supporting pets and their human families come sunny or rainy days and even when cancer comes their way, always putting the patient's quality of life first. Trained as a conventional general practitioner, Cecile is very happy to collaborate with holistic colleagues whenever complementary or supportive treatments can be offered, convinced that integrating both approaches improves our quality of care. Arrived in Chichester in 2014, Cecile is enjoying the pretty city, the South Downs, the seaside, her lovely village, her amazing friends. Having the luxury of regular Parisian trips to visit her family and friends. Forever a cat lover.

I have been working at Medivet Worthing for the last 11 years. I started my Veterinary Nurse training at Brighton University in 2010, qualifying as an RVN in 2013. In 2015, I progressed to being Head Nurse. I enjoy all aspects of Nursing, especially looking after our poorly fur babies and seeing them improve and recover during the time they are with us. In the future, I am hoping to progress my training by undertaking an Ultrasound course.

I started at Heene Road Vets December 1987, while going to Brinsbury college, I was lucky enough to be offered a placement to train as a Veterinary Nurse. After qualifying I have enjoyed working at Heene Road, now Medivet Worthing ever since. I am now happily married with 2 children, while having a breather from having loyal Boxer's in our family. We now have an entertaining Cockapoo called Buster and a tolerant cat called Molly! Veterinary nursing is a very rewarding job, although sometimes very stressful and definitely not a 9 to 5 job. I have loved my years in practice, working with some amazing vets, nurses and receptionists. I have met some lovely clients and their pets, which I have enjoyed sharing over the years.

Originally from London, I moved to Worthing in 1983 and started working at Heene Road Vets (now Medivet) in 1986 as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, prior to this I ran a small grooming business alongside working as a locum nurse. Several years later, I decided to return to full-time education (whilst remaining at Heene Road) and trained as a special needs teacher, which I did for several years but the desire to return to animals became too strong and I returned as a full-time nurse in 2014. I am married with two grown-up sons and currently own a Westipoo doggie named Daisy. Until recently I also had a cat and am finding life incomplete without one so am on the lookout for a kitten (or two). Within the practice I am referred to as the nutrition nurse having undertaken a certificate in 2018, this is an area I love researching and am never happier than when I am looking into the diets of dogs and cats. Outside of work, I sing with the Rock Choir, which I absolutely love, do Pilates and I am a dab hand at DIY.

Since qualifying in 2018, I have been a part of the Worthing team and Clinical Coaching future Vet Nurses. I particularly enjoy using all the modern equipment and tech available to us in practice and how they can be used to aid our patients in their speedy recoveries. At home, I have two very needy miniature Schnauzers and in my spare time I enjoy adventuring in the outdoors and playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends.

I started my Veterinary Nursing apprenticeship back in 2011 and qualified in 2015. I love everything about being a Veterinary Nurse from taking bloods and monitoring anaesthesia to supporting sick patients, running nurse clinics, and helping clients through the toughest goodbyes. No two days are ever the same, and that’s what makes it so special.

I have been working at Medivet Worthing since 2022 and currently training to be a veterinary nurse. I am a BIG cat lover with 3 cats of my own and 2 tortoises. My cats keep me occupied as they are constantly zooming around the house. Before I started working for Medivet, I did a degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare. I have always wanted to work with animals and training to be a nurse has allowed me to expand my knowledge whilst helping a range of species. In my free time I enjoy catching up with friends, playing with my cats and travelling to different countries.

I started working for Medivet in 2022 after working in an out-of-hours emergency veterinary practice. Since starting at Medivet I have progressed from a patient care assistant to a student veterinary nurse. I have always wanted to work with animals, and I love being a part of their care and treatment in practice. At home I have 2 rescued Staffordshire bull terrier x brothers who love attention, treats and sleeping on the bed.

Since joining Medivet, I have spent the bulk of my time familiarising myself with the role and expanding my knowledge. I love liaising with the clients and seeing the wide array of animals that come through our doors! I previously studied animal management at Plumpton college and am a lifelong animal lover (particularly fond of reptiles and invertebrates - I have had over 60 tarantulas!). In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the great outdoors and spending time with my two beautiful daughters.

I am married to a farmer and have recently relocated to the area to be closer to my husband's job. Before coming to Medivet, I worked in a specialist referral centre. When I am not caring for my young son and 2 feisty chihuahua's I enjoy long walks, paddle boarding and ski holidays. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and meeting all their furry friends!

Unfortunately vets fees are very expensive, this will eventually lead to people thinking twice about taking their beloved pets to the vet. This is not good for the pet, the owner and ultimately the vet practice as they will loose business.

Not what it used to be. I took my dog in for a dew claw removal and was charged £135. They bandaged his entire lower leg which was quite excessive for a broken dew claw and charged me for painkillers I never agreed to. The bandage took less than 5 minutes to apply and cost £34. It started peeling off before we got home... which was a 200 metre walk! I complained and one vet said I'd get a refund for the bandage. Then when I chased because I hadn't received it another vet wrote back and said they wouldn't be refunding me and that the vet I'd seen at the time had spoken to me about the painkillers. As he wasn't in the room at the time I'm not sure how he knew that. I had to complain again and finally got the bandage fees back. They ignored the painkiller issue after that so I didn't get a full refund. I have no concern over the actual care my dog receives from this practice but it's not the type of independent community practice it used to be. I don't think I've seen the same vet twice since Medivet bought the place. That perhaps says something about the nature of working there. It's just a clinical, corporate vets now. Like so many of them are becoming.

Hi, I would like to know how you justify the costs. I have paid £39.00 for a vet to sign a prescription for two items.

I took my dog to this practice when they were a family vet who gave good treatment and advice without an agenda to make money. Since being taken over by Medivet I feel I am being offered unnecessary investigations for my healthy dog every time I go there.

Building in Heene rd tricky for parking. Had to carry a reluctant cat in pouring rain in dark along rd. Really hard, uneven pavements, crossing rd etc Couldn't park at vets. Littlehampton practise easier.
Also some vets practises have more space so can have cat away from dog. There is cat area but not really sure how that's calming for cat as tight by front desk where people pay. Again..more space at Littlehampton. On this basis wouldn't recommend heene. Using it as live in Worthing.
The staff were lovely and clearly live their job. Warm welcome from reception and lovely vet so can't fault that aspect. Think it's stressful for cats as small space for cat boxes and big dogs.

Got invoice for recent check for Thyroid issue - checked price of medication, was charged £103 for a single bottle. Naturally checked online for same medication, almost every other outlet selling identical size bottle for between £43-£46. How on earth do you justify that markup? Since they have changed from Heene Road Vets it's felt like their primary focus has shifted from caring for our cats to extracting as much money out of us as possible, and the turnover of vets doesn't make you feel like there is any continuity of care even if they are friendly and kind enough when we visit. I really don't want to change vets as they have cared for our cats for over 12 years but I am also not prepared to be fleeced any more 😥

Your pricing is bordering on fraud - you charged us £103 for a bottle of Thyronorm, where as every single vets website is about £43-46 per bottle for the same size. How the hell do you justify that?
