Just been to the Oldham branch, was really worried about it, as my dogs are not best when it comes to nail clipping but I must say it was absolutely perfect the assistant was fantastic with them both, so I can only praise them all for their understanding and patience and would recommend this practice, that is my view, regards Alex caldwell (milly and lulu).

The vet was amazing. Spent lots of time explaining things to me and was very nice to my dog. The receptionists were also very friendly. However, communication from the surgery is very poor. I have emailed and messaged via the website many times and got no response when trying to book an appointment. Also, I was given the wrong prescription which would have left my dog vulnerable to illnesses had I not checked and taken the wrong medicine back. There was no apology. Please reply to my messages before I need to cancel my membership and find another surgery. Edit: all my messages were ignored and I had to leave and find another vet.

I visited the vets as an emergency in the early hours, as my little dog had ingested some sort of toxin, the vet did not seem interested, in fact he initially told me I could go home without consultation and charge, as he couldn't see anything wrong with him.
I insisted he carry out an examination of my dog, as it wasn't about the cost, I simply wanted my dog to be examined with a view to getting better.
The vet eventually examined my dog however stated he couldn't find anything wrong,.
Nothing was prescribed, I paid my £130 and left, it wasn't until visiting my usual medivet practice in chadderton the next day, and another £70 that my dog was prescribed charcoal medication to stop the toxins soaking into his system.
Charcoal should have been prescribed immediately by the emergency vets the night before, not the morning after.

In my opinion I felt the reception team were not particularly caring when I arrived. No eye contact no reassuring words. My pet was taken from me for what was potentially the last time I would see them, wasn't given a second. I did understand the urgency but there is a way of doing this. Then absolutely no update when they returned, just went back to chatting with colleagues. Again no eye contact. I sat and waited, devastated. The vet then had to ring as he did not know I was there.
Then my whole experience changed the vet was caring and reassuring but honest. After this point my whole experience was fantastic, could not have been better in fact. I felt my pet was in good hands and finally had a chance.
I would also like to say the reception team the following day were great, kind, chatty and whole different experience from the night before.
Thankfully my pet is home and healthy and for that I could not be more grateful but my experience was affected by that initial contact. If my outcome would have been different I would have not got over those last moments thankfully thats not to be.
