Had to visit this vet practise for an emergency appointment for my rabbit. I was very concerned as his eye is very irritated and with discharge. When I was seen by the vet I was made to feel that my concerns where not as valid as "I could have waited till the next morning to have him checked out". I was told that nothing is wrong with him when it's clearly not the case and was advised to pay a visit to my regular vet as he isn't an exotic vet. I asked multiple times why his eye is like this but I was never given an answer. I even mentioned that he has been scratching himself more than usual and the vet replied with "I scratch myself too" even though the area around his ear was irritated. When the appointment was finished I had to wait almsot 20 minutes as the receptionist was nowhere to be found. After I payed I sat down at the waiting area for my taxi to arrive but I was promptly asked to leave as the receptionist wanted to lock the main entrance and when I explained I was just simply waiting for a taxi she again asked if I could wait outside anyways. In general I felt that my worries were completely dismissed and that as soon I had payed for the services I received I was nothing but a nuisance. It's insane how a Google search could give me more answers than an almost £200 visit to the vet. Not to mention accepting appointments for rabbits and then claiming you aren't an exotic vet. Very dissatisfied with the overall experience and won't be coming back.

Where do I start. I am continuously left frustrated since the change over. I originally moved my dog here thinking it would be one of the best In the area with opening hours, equipment and things they are able to do on site etc. I never used to have problems when it was Ian mcconoly & in my opinion it’s really gone down hill to the point where I question if I need to find a new practice to have my dog taken better care of. My dog has had life long bladder problems due to her anatomy leaving her prone to regular & chronic recurring UTI infections, we have been to specialists had every test going and all the advice. My girl has been incredibly poorly over the years & We now manage her utis through our local vet after exhausting options. When she has a uti we have to confirm it with a water sample microscope test followed by antibiotics and then another follow up test after antibiotic treatment. Water sample tests are really time sensitive the fresher the sample and the quicker the test is very important for accuracy. Every single recent visit the tests haven’t been done promptly despite me stressing this. I’m always assured someone will ring me later in the day and 9 times out of 10 no one does and I am left to ring and chase and made to feel like I am an absolute nuisance. There seems to be some major issues with communication and follow ups. Getting hold of someone on the phone is almost impossible, no idea what is going on there ? perhaps too many patients and they are unable to deal with the sheer volume. I ring and ring and ring to chase tests that I’ve already paid for upfront. after ringing all day I tried ringing in the evening to be told the out of hours staff can’t deal with day time enquiries even though your still the same company, seemingly no one can check. The follow up tests are also really important as if they are not accurate it means my dog can still be unwell and be reinfected straight away which has happened multiple times. Which again makes me question if tests have even been carried out or carried out a day late after I have complained. I’ve now left 2 formal complaints and nothing has changed. It’s incredibly frustrating when it feels like my dog is being failed. She is my absolute world and whilst I’m sure my comments aren’t appreciated I will continue to advocate for her health & wellness. The surgery Is incredibly expensive compared to other surgery’s, I’ve spent thousands and half the time when you look online the medication is pennies. On a seperate note I was also charged emergency fees & treatment costs for taking a stray injured cat, they originally refused to take it as ownership was an issue. This really didn’t sit right with me as a huge animal lover. I can’t help but feel it’s not so much about the animals but it’s just about the money. We rarely ever see the same vet anymore, which honestly wouldn’t be an issue if it was only now and again that you visit but since as we are there all the time it feels like Groundhog Day in the sense that I have to explain years and years of medical history and specialist history at every single appointment, I understand it’s a busy surgery but no one ever seems to go back and actually read my dogs history and then when I mention things they seem shocked even though the info is all on her chart. So if you are there a lot I would try and find somewhere else just on that basis. With all that being said the vets we have seen over the years have all been very nice and caring & I believe individually there are very good people that love animals & want to make a difference to be working there, just medivet as a organisation is not great. My dog is also terrified of the vets now due to the severity of how many times she’s been poorly & poked and proded, unfortunately not many vets can now get near her, we are mostly accommodated outside which I do appreciate. As every single time I have to bring her in is a traumatic experience for us both.

Poor service today, waited 20 mins over my time, asked receptionist for paper towel as my dog was panting and wetting the floor, after 20 mins still hadn't got any, only when the vet came out I mentioned to him that the floor was wet he went and got the mop straight away and cleaned it up, I didn't want anyone to slip, (because they may have sued the practice) ! Then I was on hold for 10 mins on the phone trying to pay, I eventually put the phone down, and they had to ring me back. I have never had a problem at this practice, but I was not happy with my visit today. Hopefully, a one-off

My cat Matty was hit by a car and brought here by a very kind member of the public, but unfortunately he had already passed on. I was contacted by one of the team here and shown so much kindness and compassion. The team helped me with organising his cremation and let me stay in the room with him for as long as I wanted. I was then able to take his body away which was such a relief as I didn't want him to be alone anymore. Thank you Medivet, particularly to the lady on the phone who had just worked the night shift but stayed to comfort me in the room for while. Your kindness was so appreciated.

I can't even bring myself to award this establishment 1 star for what they did. Our cat was sadly hit by a car and died and taken to this location to identify - this was the only thing they got right. On attending, identifying and instructing the young girl (who clearly had no idea what she was doing but grief blinded the obvious) to arrange private cremation and keepsakes and updated contact details - this all went wrong. I hope Mr Ian Mcconnell reads this and feels proud of his staff!! 1. Details incorrectly recorded. 2. Initially they couldn't find out what had happened to him on going to the crematorium therefore unable to update us when we rang to check on progress. 3. The young girl in reception 3 times went to ask a Nurse and Vet what process she should do. 4. The Nurse and Vet who have "dedicated their lives to the care of animals" were "TOO BUSY TO ASSIST" so felt unable to suggest my wife and daughter wait for a while until they were free to assist. They clearly lack dedication and empathy and should maybe consider a career change. 5. No checks were made during down time re the work completed by the Receptionist. 6. Incorrect recording by the Receptionist. 7. He was placed in a bag for disposal communally, wrongly tagged. How difficult is it to use the correct colour bag, correct matching tag, record it and confirm? Then when collection is made, confirm records correspond to the diary? We have been advised everything was destroyed, no keepsakes, and staff involved received verbal warnings. Should staff not be trained correctly and a fail safe procedure be in place? It's really not that difficult is it? And employ staff who care!!! Please note. No response from the review. Happy to thank positive comments … ignore negative. Excellent business model !! Still no response. My wife contacted them by email and they asked for her details and then……..never responded. Good luck to the customers re attending this place. Check out the poor reviews.

I was absolutely appalled, if u are expecting sympathy and kindness and care for your pet/ pets, DO NOT GO HERE. I was disgusted of how i was spoken to and treated by one of the vets (i’m pretty sure was an assistant vet) when going through the paper work of treatments/ surgeries and the cost, she responded ‘this isnt the NHS’. Additionally, i’ve known several people who have had horrendous experiences here with the women at the desk, spoken to terribly, etc. However, the vets that actually checked my pet were wonderful and so so lovely, very highly skilled and ACTUALLY care!

I would have given 5 stars apart from the price! It was extremely expensive for the procedure. My son had exactly the same procedure done at a different vets on his dog and it was a third of the price that I paid! Shame really as the staff are excellent.
