Veterinary Surgeon

Hi, I'm Joe! I qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2020 and have worked at Medivet Chorley since October 2021. I have a passion for surgery, and can perform both advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures. I am also doing a further qualification in small animal surgery. In my spare time I enjoy watching sports, going to the gym, and long walks with my Border Collie Storm.

After completing my post graduate degree in Veterinary Medicine from Kerala, India, I moved to U.K. and received my MRCVS in 2005. Since then I have been working as a small animal vet initially in Birmingham, then in the North West and finally settled in Medivet Chorley in 2018. I enjoy all aspects of small animal work with interest in both medicine and surgery equally. Outside of work, I enjoy fell walking, gardening, a bit of baking, watching movies and spending time with my family and friends . I grew up with lots of animals back home in India. Currently, I have some beautiful Koi carps in my garden pond, but over the years, I had two beloved cats; Kitkat and Caramel and some beautiful canaries and finches too. I believe in the strong bond between human and animal and by helping an animal, helping a human too.

Hi I’m Alison. I qualified as a vet from Glasgow University in 1991. I started in mixed practice at Hillcrest Chorley at the old Eaves Lane site! I then did a residency in feline medicine and a PhD in feline respiratory disease at Liverpool University before returning to general practice. I have spent most of my working life in veterinary practice in the North-West except for a couple of years in the pharmaceutical industry and a short period working in Australia. I returned to the Chorley practice in August 2023 where I work part-time. My particular areas of interest are internal medicine and feline shelter medicine. In my spare time I am a trustee and vet for Woodlands Animal Sanctuary, a charity in Holmeswood, Lancashire which focusses on cat rescue; I also enjoy gardening and spending time with my family and elderly Border Terrier!

Night Veterinary Surgeon

Hi, I'm Lucy and I'm one of the night vets at Chorley Medivet. I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2021 and have been working in small animal practice since. My favourite part of the job is seeing patients that I've cared for go home to their owners after being unwell. Outside of work I enjoy hiking with my 2 dogs and rock climbing.

My name is Jenny. I am one of the night vets here at Medivet Chorley. I have worked in small animal practice for almost 9 years now, and been in emergency and critical care for the last year. I have a particular interest in surgery and have a drive to deliver the best care we can to every patient. Outside of work you'll find me playing sport, usually football, and travelling, I love to explore new places.

I’m Danielle, I have worked at Medivet Chorley 24 Hour for 4 years now, first starting as a receptionist. After 2 years I was lucky enough to be given an opportunity to study Veterinary Nursing. I am nearly at the end of Student Nurse journey and I am just waiting to take my final exams! I have always had a love for animals and currently have Lexi, Springer Spaniel and Poppy, Shih Tzu. I worked as a Dog Groomer in a previous role and spent my spare time helping dogs in obedience training.

Called today for emergency advice about my cat. Lovely friendly staff on the phone who advised up front about the emergency consultation fee(as it's weekend). Told me to come straight down. Saw a lovely vet called Pablo who gave my boy a thorough examination and, after advice and meds, I was able to bring him home (not as serious as i feared). Faultless...and my cat went to him after he'd finished checking him over. Can't recommend enough for the care provided. Thank you.

Hillcrest has always provided a great service to us and therefore we signed up our new pup Oscar to the VIP plan.. we've had our 5yo Red Setter on the plan also as it includes all monthly medications for worming and fleaing, and 1-2 health checks per year depending on age. This often means I visit and have nothing to pay as I have my reasonably priced subscription and spreads the cost over the year nicely. We did have an issue with overcharging when bringing in Rosie for a sudden illness and also her spay years before that, but this was dealt with very professionally by one of the owners/management. I do advise for any out of the ordinary operations or treatments that any customer asks for a quote to avoid any nasty over charges. Hillcrest have always provided a great service to my families dogs for over 20 years, including our own two now, to my parents 3 Springers and the pets we had before them. They saved Poppy's life approx 5 years ago from a very freak accident in Rivington, and for that I will be forever grateful. Sadly she is no longer with us as she was taken at the age of 9 last year due to the suspected blue/green algae poisoning. I have learnt a lot over the years from visiting Hillcrest and this is why they're still my go to vets now. Thank you!

I cant praise enough the doctor who worked today 13/12 Chris. I came in without an appointment and even without registration (my vets number never stopped being busy!!) as my elderly dog collapsed and lost movement in her back legs. I was terrified. Doctor spent time to explain what has happened, what are the options, looked after us and was so friendly and nice! If I can I am moving my both dogs over to this surgery. 5 stars 100% and a massive thank you!

In 3 months of being registered they have proven themselves to be excellent. Really friendly vets, good availability, quick response in emergency. In particularly Chris put our minds at ease following an emergency visit with a bad case of gastroenteritis. He was incredibly knowledgeable and empathetic.
