I am Andrei. I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2015. Since then have been practicing in multiple hospitals around the UK. In 2023 I have become a Certificate holder in Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging. I enjoy being able to cover all aspects of small animal practice, in particular performing diagnostics and imaging. I am still fascinated by how much information can be obtained in a non-invasive fashion. The most rewarding part of my career is being able to help people and pets when they need us the most.

The Vets and all the staff are very caring people, and are help full and friendly. I know when I fetch my dogs to the Vets that they are going to get the best care possible, they also spend time to explain things to me . Thank you all for caring.

Hi, I am writing as I am not very happy regarding the care I received on Tuesday 13th of January 2026 regarding my cat Joey. I brought him in out of hours with a suspected back end injury. The male staff that checked him over wasn’t very thorough and didn’t seem very interested. He quickly decided Joey had soft tissue damage to his left leg without checking any other areas of Joey and pushed me to pay for anti inflammatory medication into his back as well as pain relief into his back. This was around £60 in total I then paid for the pain relief to bring home ontop of the £130 out of hours fee. I expressed the total charge of around £220 was a lot for me to pay and asked for payment plan options but was quickly shut down. I paid this fee and went home with the advice from the vet that Joey would make a full recovery due to this injury only being soft tissue damage and to just ‘keep an eye on him’. Around 24 hours later I noticed Joey was not making any improvement so I took him to a different vets in Barnsley. I was there for a whole of a minute when the vet quickly realised the problem being Joeys tail had detached and he could fit his finger inbetween his spine and the base of his tail. How was this missed at my appointment in Medivets??? Joey spend around 30 hours in the vets and after X-rays and ultrasounds it was confirmed Joey had lost function to his Bowels and bladder, I understand this was hard to diagnose due to Joey not having an X-ray at medivets but the tail being detached was not diagnosed using any medical equipment only the vet doing a thorough check to Joey back end which is what I would have expected on the 13th when I brought him in to medivet. I am heartbroken as Joey was put to sleep last night due to the tail being detached which had caused further injuries inside, and due to the lack of care and being thorough I received at medivets he suffered longer than he should have. Joey was only 1 and was failed by you because, I’m not sure? He wasn’t deserving of a proper check over? Had this problem been found the night I brought him into medivets this could have possibly been resolved. Any animal brought in with a back end injury I would have thought this was an area that would have been checked ?? I am wanting a complete copy of joeys records from that night emailed over to me please so I can take this further. If applicable I would like a complete refund from medivets as the service wasn’t up to standards which caused me to pay even more money at a different vets to diagnose a problem that you could have. Thankyou, katie

I work in customer service,
My baby is having an operation, I am very worried/anxious was looking for some reassurance, could not help feeling that my questions irritated receptionists,
I know I possibly asked a lot of questions, in my defence this is my first ever pet & operation,
It is just me & my baby & she means the world to me, I am obviously terrified of the thought of anything happening to her....

The vet seemed lovely but I don’t understand why we needed to pay upfront for vet costs. We have insurance and our policy states we only need to pay excess, it seemed like the receptionist was not interested at all when I tried to explain this and couldn’t really give a logical explanation, maybe it was just unwanted time and effort… but what’s the point in having insurance if I have to pay a substantial amount upfront? This isn’t the same with every vet, I’ve used others before with the same policy and I’ve had no issues. Last thing you need to worry about when taking a poorly pet to the vets is the amount of money it will cost. That’s why we have insurance, right?
