I am Andrei. I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2015. Since then have been practicing in multiple hospitals around the UK. In 2023 I have become a Certificate holder in Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging. I enjoy being able to cover all aspects of small animal practice, in particular performing diagnostics and imaging. I am still fascinated by how much information can be obtained in a non-invasive fashion. The most rewarding part of my career is being able to help people and pets when they need us the most.

Though on the whole I have been mostly happy with the practice over the years, today I find I have charged £49.36 for Bravecto flea and tick chew when it is available on line at £20! After calling the vets 45 mins after it was prescribed they refused to refund us, stating "they do not take it back after it leaves the premises". It is in a sealed packet and not opened. We have spent thousands over the years with this vets, first as Arncliffe then as medivets with 3 cats and 1 dog over the years, including 4 surgical procedures, countless visits, countless amounts of medication, expensive injections......it goes on and on. I have never once complained about the cost as I know health care is expensive to deliver. However, I am aware and it has been published that the profession as a whole is under investigation for price fixing, especially in relation to medications. In this instance I think medivet should take a long hard look at its customer service. We have been a non complaining customers for years and years, always paid without question have taken all our animals and buy what they suggest and adopt all treatment plans suggested to us. However, their response today to our request for a refund on the Bravecto was curt and short sighted in my opinion. I usually do not complain, however I feel customer care today was poor and we have been taken advantage of. Shame on Medivet!

Went to medivet at Dearne valley with my dog with his cough Was told it was abdominal fluid causing this , (WITHOUT even a xray or scan ) Told me it was £1000 to drain fluid & to then scan but not really worth doing as dog was 12 years old & probably would only live another 1-2 months so it might be better put to sleep !!!! The vet was extremely rude & not interested in the dogs welfare or our feeling one bit Just the big price of the bill £££££ Went for second opinion at Animal trust & was told there’s no way it’s a cough from his stomach & no way it could have even been diagnosed from a simple visual check Turns out my dog needed some antibiotics & steroids & is back to his normal self DO NOT USE MEDIVET under any circumstances, all they want is your money !!!, no care for animals or the heartbroken owners Would have happily took £1000 off me for a procedure that was not necessary & wouldn’t have helped one bit or worse still , had my dog put to sleep over a cough !!!!!

Just had an appalling experience at this practice. We were seen by Jacek. He was rude, condescending, abrupt and would not listen to a word we had to say about our dog. We have been battling with skin issues for nearly 5 years now and although we have managed to eliminate foods and allergens that exacerbate the problem there is 1 issue that we can not clear up. I firmly believe after years of research and reading that it could potentially be a specific issue and when this was brought up during our dogs consultation he dismissed this idea without consideration or explanation as he 'could not smell' the condition on her. We bathe her daily to remove the build up and stop her itching, this also removes the scent that it creates. When i questioned the 2 different medications and shampoo he prescribed (which we have used before and I explained have not worked) he proceeded to contradict himself by saying none of these would make a difference as her skin condition was breed related and there was no explanation for what was wrong. When I asked why he was prescribing them if it was breed related and there was no reasoning for the problem he asked if we would rather give the medication back. His behavior and manner were baffling. Our dog also has gunky ears that we have to scoop out daily which look infected and irritate her, yet when he took a look at them he said there was no problem. After seeing a yeasty ear infection in my other dog which was exactly the same and treated with a short course of antibiotics and drops it cleared up and in 7 years we've never had another issue. After I questioned all of this he became hostile, asked if we needed him to explain how to use the medications he prescribed, briefly mumbled about a skin scrape and that we only had a 15 minute appointment. I cannot believe how poor his communication, manner and practice were. We have left feeling upset and deflated and unfortunately needing to find a new vet. I would also like to note that our dog has been on steroids for years (advised by another vet at this practice) and we have recently had to wean her off them due to an adverse reaction to them over time. The last time we visited we were told we needed to increase the dosage to combat this reaction, which we followed and subsequently made the situation worse. In all this time none of the vets have taken a blood sample or completed a check up, which Jacek said would be needed to done on the medication he prescribed. We have previously had a great experience here in an emergency and the reception staff are friendly, however due to this awful experience with Jacek we will move elsewhere.

Our rabbit was choking and we aren’t even registered with Medivet. Our usual vets out of hours service was almost an hour away. Without hesitation Medivet told us to bring him in. We rushed him to the vets and they literally met us in the waiting room, grabbed him out my arms and ran to start working on him. Sadly our boy died. Medivet let us have private time in a consult room to have some time with him and didn’t even charge us for their time. Absolutely amazing vets and thank you so much for trying for our boy.

We were seen on Friday by a female vet at Dearne Valley who was miserable, she wasn’t very patient with my dog and wasn’t very helpful at all. The receptionist was very miserable maybe she needs to think about her customer service skills. However on Saturday we were seen by a male vet Theo and what a guy he is. Knew exactly what he was doing and talking about and was very calm and patient with my dog. The two receptionists were helpful, polite and friendly. Totally different experience to the day before. Would highly recommend and give them 5 stars!

Kate is excellent. She is really warm and explains things very clearly. She clearly has the pet, but also the owner's, best interests at heart. The reception staff are really efficient and helpful, despite being really busy, and it's not too difficult to get an appointment to suit. Highly recommended.
