I've been working at Medivet Hendon since March 2022. For the 15 years prior to that, I was at the Medivet in Hampstead Garden Suburb, my first ever job. I really love the area and I lived here for some time after I was married. I have always felt a real connection to the people in the area and as a result this remains my 1st and only veterinary job, even 13 years after finishing uni. My passion is for medicine cases and I regularly give advise to neighbouring Medivet clinics on complex medical cases. Outside of work I play football and squash and love reading. I am married with 3 lovely kids and 1 very cheeky cat called Coco.

Horrifying Experiences at Kingsbury and Hendon Medivet. I have had multiple distressing experiences with Medivet, specifically at the Kingsbury and Hendon branches, and I feel compelled to share my story to prevent others from enduring the same. One of the first visits to Kingsbury Medivet was traumatic. My pet had been attacked, and while being shaved around the injury in the back, he was nicked by the razor. To make matters worse, I heard the vet screaming at him, likely because he had scratched her. This left my pet absolutely terrified and deeply traumatized. When we came back to the same female vet to remove the stitches his ears were back and his tail was between his legs. Hoping for better care, I took him to Hendon Medivet for an unknown infection. Instead of proper treatment, they shaved him like a poodle, performed unnecessary scans, and gave him ibuprofen, then sent him home still sick without any antibiotics and the bill of nearly £2000. Fortunately, I had leftover antibiotics from the previous vet visit, which I used to treat him myself. This morning at Kingsbury Medivet, I faced another upsetting incident. Admittedly, I did not realize that a routine appointment booked online could not be fulfilled in person as a consultation, and I was a few minutes late because my Uber driver refused to take us. However, the complete lack of empathy for my sick animal was unbearable. Despite their willingness to charge exorbitant fees for any appointment, the rudeness and coldness from the staff were so overwhelming that I left in tears. Considering there were no other clients present, it is baffling why they could not spare a moment to check on my pet before his travels. I will never return to Medivet at any branch. The consistent lack of professionalism and compassion has left me deeply disappointed and concerned for any pet owner seeking care from them.

!! Wrong contact number !!! Lungworms test failure !!! Cardiac arrest during CT-scanning!! My dog admitted to Medivet veterinary practice- Hendon brunch in January the 18th 2022 due to respiratory distressed. The practice advised us that different types of laboratory tests including imaging (X-rays and CT-scan) need to be done to reach the diagnosis. She was not in good situation as practice did not reach definitive diagnosis in proper time manner and it is strongly believed that her welfare was affected dramatically. She went through a CT-scan and unfortunately during the CT-scan passed away. The practice informed me that She had heart arrest during CT-scanning. The practice wanted to send Her body for cremation and I did not give consent for cremation as I believe it is very unfair on her to be cremated without getting a definitive diagnosis. Therefore, we requested to send the body for post mortem. Post mortem result illustrated that Her death was lung worm infestation. She died when simply could simply avoided three times but now she’s died she’s gone, We have spoken to a few other practice vets and they strongly believe that if the standard of care was done, her death could have been avoided. Reasons of her death 1- poor communication : they had a wrong phone number since beginning and Now the response that we received , “it’s was human error “ The practice failed to provide us with the worm pill she had to take every month. They wrote the wrong phone number down and even tho we went to them twice since we had her and they even didn’t check her medical history to provide us or tell us that she had a missing pills. Her previous owner has told us to keep an eye on the text messages as they text you when the pill is due to be administrated to her. We contacted the clinic and they said it was not their responsibility. They even didn’t even email us the reminder. 2- lungworm test failure : the response we received” we did carry out an in house blood test to check for lungworm. Although this test can prove very useful, it is not 100% effective at detecting lungworm and therefore showed as negative, but this can happen as the test is very sensitive and only detects specific strains of lungworm.”!!!!!! Negative!! She died from lungworms in that stage how could be 3- during the CT-scan passed away!!!: I spoke with many doctors and vet every one says that the X-ray clearly shows that her lung being extremely compromised and her heart is larger than normal and that should have been clear enough for the vet or surgeon to know not to inject her with antistatic as her lungs were not able to provide enough oxygen for her heart to function. That would have been as I quote “the standard procedure” to start the diagnoses. We came to the clinic twice and nobody mentioned to us that we were contacted but her pills were not collected and even the last time she was there I asked the vet to give us any pills she might have missed but they even didn’t check her medical history We do not deny the part we took in her death but it could easily been avoided by you three times I hope never happens to any family My baby has missed two of her milprazon pills due to the wrong phone number being kept on your system. When we changed the owner detail, there were no checks to see if the clinic holds the right contact details of their client. The email address was right but still failed to communicate with us after two unsuccessful attempts by phone number. Nowadays wherever you register, they ask for your email and phone number confirmation to make sure they hold the right information the step should be taken to avoid this to happen to any other pets and family The clinic should have a better way of communicating with their clients and not just rely on automated text messages as many places have text and email reminders for their clients. The seriousness of the lungworm should be considered in all clinics as we believe Many new owners like us do not know about this lungworms disease and the seriousness of the disease.

Saw a stray cat and was concerned - I called up the Vet and was told to bring it in for a check up and see if we could find the owner unfortunately he wasn’t chipped and so we had to put him back where we found him. I’d like to say a big thank to the lady who saw him and assessed him but with great displeasure we had to let him back out. I hope his owners find him. The cat was in the car park of Bree Court where the Aldi and M&S is opposite the ASDA Superstore in Colindale. The cat had a brown leather collar with a silver bell. He is uninjured and has a limp which is nothing to worry about just a birth defect as per the checkup. Hope he gets home!!

My family and I (including young children) rushed our 17 year old cat here on a Saturday night at around 9pm. I was very very upset and my children were crying. The receptionist was great and sat and comforted my children, who at that time of night had no choice but to come with us. The vet himself a lovely man called Francesco was just amazing. Very quiet, and calm. My cat was very much clearly dying, but he never once pushed us into any decision. He explained all options carefully and had to re explain a few times as I was in shock and distressed. He explained the pros and cons of each one. He gave me the option of giving my cat a very strong painkiller so I could take her home for one last night if I wanted to, without judgement . His clear explanations with empathy and care made me choose the hardest, most difficult decision and looking back it was completely the right decision. He did not try to rush us even though we could hear other customers had come in. Everything was handled afterwards with the highest dignity and care.

If I could give no stars I would. My cat was denied treatment as I could not pay the upfront cost of £1650 (50% of a 3 night stay) and euthanasia was offered as the only option. I requested a payment plan, or for them to hold him and take care of him while I tried to collect funds from friends and family as I could not afford the treatment and I was not given any options at all or any sympathy for my situation. My cat with FLUTD was stuck inside the clinic with a blocked bladder the size of a peach under immense pain and they would not help at all unless I gave them almost £2000. In the end his condition had gone too far and he had to be euthanised, they were so insensitive regarding the whole procedure, and while we were crying and saying goodbye absolutely devastated as he was truly my baby, all we could hear in the background from behind the doors was a nurse/doctor shouting at another distressed cat to shut up. DO NOT GO HERE!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANIMALS JUST MONEY AND CHARGE EXTORTIONATE AMOUNTS!!! AS WELL AS BE NASTY TO YOUR ANXIOUS PETS WHEN YOU ARE NOT AROUND.

Amazing veterinary centre! Honest and professional. Spot on with the diagnostic and not trying to overcharge for unnecessary treatments. Very much appreciated. We were registered with a veterinary in Borehamwood centre who are so dishonest and greedy for money from insurances that they persuade customers to leave the pet in their back room hospital pretending that are very sick when sometimes the pet only needs a worming pill. Please don’t change your honest ethics. Thank you
