I grew up in the wilds of Yorkshire, reading James Herriot and Richard Adams, so it seemed only natural that I became a vet. After a few years, I realised cats and dogs were a lot less muddy than farms and cows, so I moved across to small animals and now I’m part of the amazing hospital team in Poole. When not at work you'll find me curled up with my cats or being the proud mum to my cheeky teenager.

Hi, I'm Adele and I work on the night team covering out of hours and emergencies. When I'm not at work, I am kept busy with my menagerie of two dogs, two horses, a tortoise and eight ferrets. I'm soon to rehome a feral cat too. As well as this, I'm studying for a canine and equine physiotherapy degree which will help our patients while staying overnight.

My name is Donna and I am part of the emergency team. I have been a been a veterinary nurse for a really long time. It is the best and sometimes hardest job in the world! And I love it! My own cat was really poorly last year and the brilliant team @ Poole 24hr looked after us both and nursed him back to health.

I have been part of Medivet for 4 years, starting as a mobile PCA before training to become a student veterinary nurse. My favourite part of my job is looking after the inpatients so they are happy, healthy and ready to go home. At home I have 2 dogs called Poppy and Lottie as well as 4 rabbits (Benji, Evie, Teddy and Dotty). When not at work, I like spending time with my pets, diamond painting and playing games.

I'm Sian i love all animals shape and sizes and looked after many whilst living in spain for 12years. I currently have a cat called daisy-doo and my 2 axolotls, light fury and toothless. My role is a twilight patience care assistant, assisting the nurse and vets treat the poorly animals whilst assessing emergencies over the phone and talking to worried owners is the main part. Look at becoming a nurse in the future.

I'm a Registered Veterinary Nurse, I've only be qualified a year and a half, so still feel I'm learning everday. I've wanted to work in the veterinary field since I was 7 years old when we used to take my old cat to the vets. My favourite part of the job is when we care for a long term inpatient and every day we see them get slightly better until they are ready to go home. I've got a beautiful ginger cat at home called Biscuit, he is a stray I adopted from work. In my spare time, I hang out with friends and family, watch movies and play with Biscuit

I am registered with the PDSA but my dog won't take tablets and I needed her to get an injection of antibiotics (PDSA only stock antibiotic tablets). The person I spoke to arranged everything and I was able to get my dog the protection she needed .
Many thanks.

These vets are absolutely fantastic my cat nala came to them with quite severe anemia and a grade 5 heart murmur the vets were absolutely wonderful and acted immediately and checked to see if it was feLV or fiv which it thankfully wasn’t they put her on oxygen and started giving her steroids and antibiotics to get her red blood cells up to a normal level i could tell they treated nala very well as when we came to visit her she was so happy.A big thank you to this vet as they saved her, nala isn’t just a cat to me she’s my best friend and my soul cat and I have never seen her so happy before in her whole life she meows a lot she’s always purring and in a good mood she rolls around a ton she’s always purring and absolutely loves to play as you can see in the photos 😂 I must admit it we have spent alot of money trying to help her but me and my family would do it all over again if it meant keeping her alive and happy

The only issue was with the computer system. It seems to struggle to find me/my cat.
When I booked the appt by phone the very nice male receptionist took quite a long time to find my pet on system & then book it.
Then when I turned up at correct time & date it wasn’t on system at all.
However the very efficient veternary nurse I dealt with sorted it & took us straight in even though it was busy.
Hence I have scored 8. Otherwise I’d of given a 10.
I’m never quite sure if I’m going to be on system which is a bit stressful.

As a new client, the initial telephone booking was excellent.
At the first appointment there was a delay and I had to wait with my new puppy for 10 minutes.
The vet was kind and careful and will bring my pet back there.

I was unable to bring my dog in myself due to illness. Harry my poodle was seen by a young vet earlier with his poorly eyes. I was given drops which quite frankly didn't work. I treated his eyes myself by bathing every day with warm water. Recently his right eye has developed a place that constantly gets muck coming from it. My daughter was told there was nothing visibly wrong, but I was horrified that he did not even clear the muck away. If he had he would have been able to see the source of the problem. My daughter told him about the hole in the lower lid where the sore place was oozing but he said he couldn't see it. He diagnosed that Harry needed a procedure called an entropian where the eyelid is turning inwards and the lashes are scratching his eyeball. I was a veterinary nurse for some years and I know this is a wrong diagnosis. My dog is in no pain with this eye. He does not rub it or show any sign of irritation. I will be seeking a second diagnosis from another vet who hopefully will clean the eye at least. I am very disappointed with the service I have received.
