Meet our Partner, Dan Shaw
After graduating from Cambridge University in 2008 I moved to Thanet to begin my career. I’ve lived locally ever since, leading a 24 Hour veterinary hospital in Canterbury for most of the past decade. I’m now excited to become co-owner of these two long-standing Medivet clinics near my family home. I’ve been recognised as an Advanced Practitioner in Diagnostic Imaging for over seven years and I believe that careful consideration of a pet’s needs, and an accurate diagnosis, are fundamental to providing good care. I live in Minnis Bay with my wife and children, enjoying regular trips to the beach and looking after our cats and guinea pig.

I have just purchased a 12 week old cocker spaniel puppy. He was due for his first vaccinations, so I registered him at Medivet. I have previously used Medivet in Sutton, Epsom and Esher. The staff at Birchington were very friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. I registered the pup on Tuesday and was also informed about the health care scheme, to which I subscribed. I returned the following day for the vaccinations. It was the pup's first visit to a vet and we were both put at our ease by the reception staff and the vet. I was given plenty of information as to the upcoming booster shots. The relevant medication for worming and flea treatments was dispensed to me and a follow up appointment was made. Very reassuring experience.

Wonderful team… I had the worst day today, said goodbye to my beautiful Lacey, dog. The whole team were amazing and made the worse day a little easier to manage

We usually go to Minster but our appt was changed to Birchington. Bit apprehensive as a long time ago we had a bad experience there. But staff were amazing very friendly & Vlad our usual vet was there. Excellent care from him as always. Thank you so much for your continued care with our aging Maine Coon Nessa.😋😋😋

I liked the fact that Vlad gave me little tips on how to get my cat really easily into his carrier and made suggestions about where to place his drinking water for example.
