I qualified from Liverpool University in 1993 and have enjoyed working in small animal clinics since. In my spare time I like to pretend to surf, go mountain biking, and walk with my two terriers, Kiki and Ted.

Professionally, I enjoy all aspects of my professional life around animals. My dream has been to be a vet since I was a child. I find diagnostic imaging the most interesting! I consider this practice well-organized and love the team. Everyone loves animals and has incredible knowledge. I am a crazy cat lover. I have 3 cats-two amazing furry girls (whole black + whole white) and one handsome ginger boy. Every day with them brings me joy and laughter. When I put my vet cap down, you can find me mainly relaxing in nature or spending time with my family.

I graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon from The University of Liverpool in 2012 after previously completing a degree in Zoology. Having grown up in Cornwall I decided there is no better place I want to work. I love all aspects of being a vet and always strive to look after all pets as if they were my own. In my spare time I enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding and going on long country walks with my Cocker Spaniel Ned.

We have a fantastic close knit team who are supportive and hard working plus have a great sense of humour! I have 3 cats; two exotic shorthairs and a ragdoll. All 3 of them are more like dogs and love nothing more than sleeping on my lap whenever I sit down. I enjoy exploring around cornwall, finding ways of keeping my two young children entertained and anything food related!

As a Veterinary Surgeon at Monument Vets, my day includes a mixture of consulting, dealing with medical in-patients and surgery. I work across both the Camborne and Redruth practices, and love the surgical aspect of my role. In my free time, you’ll find me running, playing netball, looking after my small herd of cows and going on long walks with my sausage dog Marcus.

I have a dog called Sunny, he is pretty much the practice mascot as he’s in most days to say hello to the team. I love playing netball and getting out for walks with Sunny. I also love to travel at any opportunity I get!

I love that there is so much variety in my job. I started as a pet care assistant and now I have started my student veterinary nursing course. We have a lovely team and everyone is super helpful with my nurse training! I have 2 cats called Merlin and Meeko who are both very cheeky and cuddly. If it’s sunny I love going paddle boarding, kayaking or any excuse to go to the beach! In the winter I’ll most likely be reading a book and having pet cuddles.

I have 3 cats – Honey, aka FatCat is a giant ginger fluffball and loves everybody, Smudge is my 3 legged tortoiseshell who loves to steal our sandwich meat in the morning, and Piper, my naughty tabby who likes to create chaos and only loves us when she feels like it. Outside of work, my family and I live for the warmer seasons! I love our local cornish beaches for paddleboarding, surfing, beach bbqs and sunsets. I also like to read, crochet and do pilates.

My job typically involves patient care, anaesthetic monitoring, assisting in operations when required, radiography, laboratory work, nurse clinics, and hygiene control – it’s a varied role! I love meeting clients and their pets with preventative health care clinics being my favourite aspect of the role. In my spare time I’m a bit of a film buff, I like to go to music gigs whenever I can, i enjoy going for walks the family dogs and to go swimming whenever I can.

I qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2003, and have discovered that I particularly enjoy working with cats – perhaps because I have one of my own at home… One of my biggest responsibilities here at Monument is organising and managing both the nursing and reception teams, and assisting with the day-to-day running of the practice. I’m also responsible for monitoring anaesthetics, helping out in theatre, managing stock, running blood samples, and liaising with reps and suppliers – phew! Fortunately, I absolutely adore the variety of my job!

I also have a young Lab called Fable who loves coming to work with me. I love Cornwall in the summer, I love exploring new places, sea swimming and taking Fable on adventures! If I could have one superpower it would be to be able to talk to animals! It would make my job a lot easier!

I had got more confident with the basic aspects of general nursing in my last practice and wanted to gain more experience with a wider variety of cases. I loved the supportive and team ethos of this practice which is a great environment to learn more in. I have 3 dogs. Two whippets, Ruby and Saffy and ex racer greyhound Lily. I also have two horses. Tinker is my cob and main riding horse and I also have a shire, Moonlight who is now retired from showing. I love riding and taking care of my horses. I love finding new places to take the dogs and recently got a Land Rover Defender to bundle all the dogs into and take on adventures.

I’ve worked at Monument for six years, and no two days are the same! My job as a veterinary nurse is so varied, and includes things like pre-op checks and anaesthetic monitoring, taking blood sample and doing lab work, even reception duties from time to time. My favourite part of the job is probably helping in the operating theatre, and I especially enjoy working with dogs on their behaviour and nutrition. I’ve got two dogs of my own at home, both Rhodesian Ridgebacks.

I love to work within a small team, and getting involved in all aspects of veterinary work. I have a very cute English Bull Terrier who is sooo lazy and I love him dearly. Outside of work I like to go for long beach walks. Having a young family and an English Bull Terrier Cornwall couldn’t be more perfect for all of us.

As a veterinary nurse at Monument my job involves setting up for operations and procedures, caring for inpatients, laboratory and dispensary work, helping out on reception, and running nurse clinics – my favourite part of the job! Animals are a huge, important part of my life. I have a Jack Russell called Buddy, who I love going on walks with in my spare time, and I enjoy spending time with my family looking after our chickens, sheep, and cattle.

Craig Burnett

Practice Manager

As the Practice Manager, patient care is put before anything else. Since joining Medivet I realise I have inherited a dedicated and professional team both clinical and client facing. The kindness and patience I witness every day to patients that do not have a voice of their own is humbling. This is the best job I have had. If things get a little difficult in my day, there is always a fury friend that needs their chin rub or ear scratched which helps refocus my mind. Outside of work I spend as much time with my son and loved ones as possible. Days out, good food and enjoying the beauty of Cornwall is all I need to be happy in life!

As a receptionist we’re the first face you see, or the first voice you hear so our aim is to reassure you at what can be a stressful time; responsible for registering clients, making appointments, accounts, advice, dispensing, cleaning and various other supporting roles. Having spent more close to two decades working in hotel management, I love the customer facing role. Without a doubt though the most enjoyable part of the work is playing with puppies! I do love Thursday’s when we have our puppy parties!! Out of work I am a bit of a brass band enthusiast, having played in various bands in Cornwall and even dabbling in some conducting.

I make appointments and greet clients and their pets on arrival, I enjoy working in a vibrant and professional, friendly team in an environment where every day is different, and you never know what to expect! In my spare time I enjoy walking my dog Patrick and cooking for my family and friends. I also enjoy going on holiday!

It’s a nice change from what I was doing previously. I have a 13 year old white cat called Cookie who is very affectionate. I also have a 1 year old Portuguese Water Dog called Benji who loves his walks on the beach. Having a young family I don’t get much free time. But I do enjoy taking Benji for a walk on the nearby beaches, I also enjoy reading.

Being a rather enthusiastic individual, I pride myself on delivering excellent customer service towards all of our loyal clients (and their owners!) I myself have one dog (Barnaby) and two cats (Theodore & Maisie). In my spare time I love to run and eat lots of food. I also occasionally enjoy watching videos of baby polar bears playing the snow and funny videos of cats and dogs being mischievous (this takes up most of my spare time to be honest).Overall, I like to smile a lot and be happy.

  • Your vet in Camborne

We're a kind and caring team based in Camborne. We understand your pet is a beloved member of your family which is why we're so pleased to be able to offer you a full range of veterinary services and facilities.

We look forward to welcoming you and helping your pet lead a happy and healthy life.

  • Puppy & Kitten Clinics

Puppies and kittens develop rapidly in their first few months, and getting off to a healthy start gives them the best chance of health in adulthood.  When puppies and kittens are vaccinated with us our nurses offer free puppy and kitten checks where they track weight and development and can advise on matters such as parasites, diet, neutering and behaviour.

  • Geriatric Clinics

There are certain conditions associated with life’s later years that if picked up early can be more effectively treated.  So we offer all pets over the age of 7 a free nurse consultation, a chance for us to check in with an elderly pet’s health and behaviour.  By evaluating their lifestyle and behaviour patterns and listening to an owner’s concerns, our nurses can help identify any problems that arise, early, for the best chance of treating them.

  • Saying Goodbye

The hardest part of loving a pet is having to say goodbye; Monuments Vets will support you through the process, considering it an honour and a privilege to be involved a pet’s last moments. Our caring and professional team will help you decide when the time is right, keeping a pet’s dignity and quality of life at the heart of decision making. You can choose to say goodbye at one of our practices, or in the familiarity of your pet’s own home.

  • Pet Passports

Pets infiltrate all elements of our lives; our hearts, our homes and now even our holidays!  With these wonderful adventures comes the need for a bit of planning.  We can help you ensure you have your pet’s health considerations as well as their documentation all sewn up for safe and easy passage.

£280 for a toy breed dog castration is ridiculous. Other vets in the area range from £198 to £240. The only reason we haven't moved vets yet is because we've already paid the initial consult fee when you first register. Strangely, the consult fee is on par with other vet surgeries, it's the treatment afterwards that jumps in price... UPDATE : spoke to one of the practice directors, who told me he doesn't set the prices (despite on their Facebook page etc giving the appearance of a "family run practice", they are owned by the very large Medivet). Although he did agree that an average of over 30% more than any other vets was excessive. We've removed the dogs from their care, because any company that charges through the nose for an ethical operation cannot be trusted to put animals first.

The vet that treated my pet was professional and friendly, however in hindsight i think the examination could have been more thorough. I found the receptionist aloof and unfriendly.

Brilliant, caring, kind, lovely vets and staff. They have been our family’s vets for over 20 years. I wouldn’t go anywhere else or trust my dogs to different vets. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you. All of you.

All good, professional, never had any issues. 👍, (This is a general observation) like any vets now, since the introduction of pet insurance, charges are through the roof.

I recently lost my beloved dog. The staff at Monument Vets treated me with such compassion and made a heartbreaking situation so much easier. The vet was so nice and understanding. I also recieved a lovely sympathy card and some wild flower seeds to plant in my dog's memory. Many thanks for everything
