I agree with some of the other comments. There are reception staff that are brusque unfriendly and uninterested. A smile costs nothing guys ! And the vets also come with a sprinkling of attitude. I rarely use and would rather travel across London to Elizavets ( highly recommend ). Even trying to buy a dog safety collar was met with unpleasantness and indifference 🤷🏼‍♀️

Very difficult visit today that should have been a simple check up and L4 injection. My dog had to be muzzled for the first time ever as the vet decided she must have an ear infection (despite no symptoms or indication from me) and needed the otoscope rammed far into her ears. I was threatened with a 400£ anaesthesia fee if she didn’t comply. Of course there was nothing wrong. He didn’t ask if we wanted KC vaccine but gave it to her anyway. In the end I had to ask for the L4 injection to be done NOW please, after she didn’t accept his treats for the third time. Very rough handling and over the top shouting and gesturing resulted in a very stressful atmosphere, an appointment that was far too long, and a dog that will be traumatised next time she needs to go to the vets. Unprofessional. Will not be going back.

I've always found the veterinary advice to be sound and appropriate. All the staff clearly care for their client's pets. Some routine appointments are available to book online which is helpful. Opening hours are good too.

A highly traumatic experience for my dog and for me. We won’t be returning to this vet again. I took my dog in for a routine ear infection and explained very clearly that he is in a lot of pain and needs to be handled carefully. I knew I had to advocate fiercely for my dog, as my experience of the vets at this practice is that they don’t listen, or seem to care very much. I refused to let the vet insert a scope into my dog’s ear. Not only is this extremely painful for dogs with ear infections, it’s also pointless - the vet can never see anything in the canal as the ears are blocked. When a swab needed to be taken, I insisted on gathering the sample (gently) myself. When the ear drops has to be administered, the vet told me this has had to be done by him. As my dog has never had a bad reaction to receiving drops, I allowed the vet to do so. The vet handled my dog very roughly with complete disregard for his welfare. I have never seen my dog howl and cry in so much pain in his entire 7 year life. The vet jabbed the dropper nozzle into his infected ear, continued to forcibly insert the drops despite the agony he caused and then made the whole thing worse by aggressively rubbing the sore ear to massage the drops in. When I questioned him on why this was such a painful experience he patronised me by saying my dog was just reacting to the sensation of the drops. I refused to let the vet touch my dog again. I administered the drops in the other ear, and gently massaged the drops in without causing my dog any further discomfort. This whole experience was completely unnecessary and totally avoidable. When I confronted the vet about his handling of my dog, he had nothing to say. No apology was offered. I’ll never forget the sound and sight of my dog howling and crying in so much pain. I left in tears.

Edit: just adding a recommendation for Hoxton Vet nearby. We've switched to this vet that is nearby and cannot recommend them enough as an alternative. -- Original Review: Waited to post a review until I had been for a few visits and after I called to speak with the them. After I called and essentially ignored, I asked for a return call from a vet to chat about my dog's issue, and for them to send me my dogs charts. They said they would be not surprisingly, neither was done so leaving a review. I've now been coming here on and off for a couple years just because of how close the location is to my home. There's absolutely no continuity of service and the one good doctor is now leaving. The rest range between indifferent and unprepared. They mostly just want to charge you and get you out the door. Between our experiences and those of our dog park friends, it's just been consistently bad and I'd recommend going elsewhere despite its convenience. The only positive is they often have availability.
