I qualified in South Africa in 2012 from the University of Pretoria, Ondertepoort. I have always been surrounded by animals, from dogs to cows (many being my own pets) and I intend to continue to be surrounded by animals. I just wish that I could talk to the animals and talk with the animals…

With over a decade of experience in the veterinary industry, I began my career as a nurse in 2007, working in general practice as well as veterinary hospitals. I transitioned to handling insurance claims for multiple Medivet practices, where I use my nursing background to provide expert assistance with claims processing. I have a little golden oldie terrier called Tsuki and 2 cats called Bluebell and Forest.

Practice Mascot

Tippy is a charming Cavachon who roams the practice as our beloved mascot. She adores her ball and thrives on the affection she receives from the team. While she can sometimes be a bit fussy with food, a bit of chicken always makes her happy. Though she has a sassy side, Tippy's playful spirit and loving nature make her an irreplaceable part of our practice.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit, for which I was charged £177. My cat was brought in with minor skin issues on his face. The vet suggested it was fleas or an allergy, administered a steroid injection, and prescribed a flea spot-on liquid. To be clear: my cat had NO fleas before this visit. Immediately after applying the prescribed liquid to his neck, he began scratching the site in distress. Within 48 hours, he developed massive, alarming bald patches (alopecia) around his tail and hind legs due to an acute adverse reaction and frantic over-grooming caused by the treatment. It is unacceptable to pay such a high price for a professional consultation only to have my pet’s condition deteriorate so rapidly. The diagnosis felt like a 'one-size-fits-all' approach that ignored my cat's sensitivities. I now have a pet in significant discomfort and a very expensive bill for a treatment that caused more harm than good. I would strongly advise caution if you have a sensitive pet.

Feedback regarding my visit - Serious adverse reaction to prescribed treatment.
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the treatment my cat received during a consultation for which I was charged £177.
The cat was brought in with minor skin issues on his face. The vet prescribed a flea spot-on treatment and a steroid injection, claiming the cause was fleas. However, there were no fleas present on the cat.
Immediately after applying the liquid spot-on treatment to the back of his neck, I observed my cat showing signs of intense irritation and trying to scratch the application site. Within 48 hours of this treatment, he developed extensive and alarming alopecia (bald patches) around his tail and hind legs. It is clear that he had an acute adverse reaction to the prescribed spot-on liquid, which caused him to frantically over-groom himself to the point of losing large amounts of fur.
I find it unacceptable that an expensive professional consultation resulted in such a rapid deterioration of my pet's condition. I would like an explanation as to why this reaction occurred and what steps the clinic will take to rectify this, as I am now left with a pet in significant distress and a potential need for further corrective treatment.

Receptionist was super lovely, but I felt the vet was a bit cold and rushed.
It was very much in and out (in literally 3 minutes) instead of asking me a bit more about my dog and doing a proper consultation.
And there were no other appointments before or after so there was no rush. It’s a shame as it doesn’t give that level of care you’d want for the price you pay.

The practice has the friendliest staff I have ever met. Vet Grant gave professional advice and was gentle and caring. The receptionist and nurse were also very helpful and kind when admitting my cat for the procedure that day.
My cat returned home and is recovering very well. The surgery was very successful.
I also want to add that the staff work in a very busy environment, yet they still do their best to arrange urgent cases with care and compassion. If we truly love animals, I hope everyone can show understanding rather than placing blame on the clinic. I personally witnessed how dedicated and caring they are when handling emergency services.
