I started working for Medivet as a permanent member of staff. Then I decided to have time away but didn't stay away for long. I decided to come back as a locum vet. I love seeing the different practices and l get to see a variety of cases and surgery. The team at Hinckley Roston Drive are always welcoming and happy to help me. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, travelling and caring for my exotic pets.

Practice Manager and Veterinary Nurse

I have always been interested in the veterinary profession with carrying out work experience at Roston Drive back in 2004!! I became a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2012 after completing my BSc (HONS) degree. After a few years, I gained my certificate in Emergency and Critical Care and worked nights in an emergency hospital which I thoroughly enjoyed!! I am currently working on my certificate in advanced vet nursing for small mammals. These days you will find me at Roston Drive within part of the nursing team and as practice manager. When not at work I enjoy spending time with my husband, dog Rosie, blind cat Harley and my tortoise.

Head Surgical Veterinary Nurse

I have always had an interest in veterinary work originating from a farming background and took a student nurse position in a mixed practice in Leicestershire in 2003. I qualified in 2007 as a registered veterinary nurse (RVN) and decided to take locum roles in referral centres and small animal general practices all over the country. I worked at the animal charity PDSA for 10 years during which time I completed my diploma in advanced veterinary nursing (DipAVN) and graduated from Myerscough School of Veterinary Nursing in 2015. After this I worked as a volunteer abroad for 2 animal charities in Greece. In 2019, I took a head nurse role within Medivet for 3 years. I currently work within the nursing team at Medivet Roston Drive as head of the surgical department which is where my passion lies. Outside of work, I enjoy keeping tropical fish, walking, swimming and baking cakes.

Student Veterinary Nurse

My name is Mathilda, and I am a 1st year student veterinary nurse. At home, I have 5 cats, 4 chickens, a Jack Russell Terrier, and a leopard gecko. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing sick patients recover as a result of our treatment and care within the practice. Responsibilities I enjoy within the practice include carrying out sample analysis in the laboratory, along with patient recovery after sedation or general anaesthetic.

Client Care Assistant

I started my career as a veterinary receptionist in March 2017 working at Vets4Pets in Hinckley where I became Head Receptionist. I really enjoyed my role there but left in 2021 to work at Bell, Brown & Bentley vets as they offered me set hours. Whilst at Bell, Brown & Bentley I completed the Bronze, Silver & Gold BVRA award and became an Associate Veterinary receptionist. I moved to Medivet Roston Drive in May 2023 as it’s much closer to where I live and I can walk to work. I love working as part of the Medivet Roston Drive Team and meeting all the pets and their owners. In my spare time I enjoy walking, spending time with my three grandchildren and looking after my 4 cats.

Their animal care is brilliant, the core part of any veterinary surgery! Unfortunately their customer care is truly shocking going from my recent experience. A flawed administration/pc system, which seems to be like the Post Office Horizon system imho, financial payments having to ability to vanish into thin air. According to the surgery manager, they don't have any system inplace to trace down missing payments. So they just turn their customers into the bad guys and blame them for "making off without paying" and threatening debt collectors if we don't provide a copy of "our" bank statements! Instead of the manager quickly contacting Worldpay, with the time date, payment amount and last 4 numbers of the card. 5 minutes maximum, Their excuses was "it Medivets policy for the customer to prove it, if not then we send in the debt collection" Well due to "their" administration error, which has now been cleared up from me going down their having to show them my online banking app to prove £41 was actually paid to them, they have lost us as customers after 19 years! The mangers attitude absolutely stinks, speaking and treating customers like they're criminals, basically calling us liars. The funny part of it all, is we have proved to them they did take the payment from us, but they still have absolutely no idea where they allocated the payment to. I am wondering if Fujitsu developed their computer systems? Currently awaiting for an apology in writing.....

Appalling from start to finish. Our rescue has severe anxiety and behavioural issues that he is medicated for and sees a behaviourist. We had a medication review to get some more meds ordered as we had 2 weeks of meds left. We were told this would take a few days to arrive. 1 and a half weeks go by and we hadn’t heard so we called and were informed that the Vet had forgotten to take the dosage so was never ordered. So they placed the order again. We went to collect and was informed that one of the medications were unavailable so we had to order online. The receptionist told us we only had to pay £30 then we pay nothing online which was incorrect. We paid £20 for next day delivery as our dog was almost out of meds then were informed we needed the vets to send the prescription to the online site. We go into the vets to get this sent over when they said they sent it but the next day were informed they had sent it wrong and without a vets signature. We asked them to send it again and this time the email address was spelt wrong. At this point, our dog had been without his meds for a week! Now it has been sent a third time and the meds are finally being dispatched 3 weeks after our appointment. We asked for a copy of the prescription for his other meds because we have no confidence in them and they tried to charge us another £30 for a prescription we had paid for already! We will not be putting our boy’s life in their hands after this.

Medivet are a disgusting company. They buy out every independent vets practice in an area and then when they own them all they pump prices to profiteer. We will likely never have another pet now once our current one is gone - mainly due to the immoral practices of Medivet. Disgusting company.
