I did my thesis in the field of internal medicine on the metabolic disturbances of dogs. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, cycling, hiking and going to the cinema. Head Surgical Veterinary Nurse

I have always had an interest in veterinary work originating from a farming background and took a student nurse position in a mixed practice in Leicestershire in 2003. I qualified in 2007 as a registered veterinary nurse (RVN) and decided to take locum roles in referral centres and small animal general practices all over the country. I worked at the animal charity PDSA for 10 years during which time I completed my diploma in advanced veterinary nursing (DipAVN) and graduated from Myerscough School of Veterinary Nursing in 2015. After this I worked as a volunteer abroad for 2 animal charities in Greece. In 2019, I took a head nurse role within Medivet for 3 years. I currently work within the nursing team at Medivet Roston Drive as head of the surgical department which is where my passion lies. Outside of work, I enjoy keeping tropical fish, walking, swimming and baking cakes.

Consulting Veterinary Nurse

After working for the Retired Greyhound Trust as a teenager, it inspired me to move into a career as a veterinary nurse in 2015. I started working in a veterinary hospital, before moving into a first opinion practice, before finally settling as a Consultation Nurse which is where my passion lies. I enjoy speaking to clients and working with them to help provide the best possible care for their pets.

I have always been interested in the veterinary profession with carrying out work experience at Roston Drive back in 2004!! I then moved to the then Fairfield vets (Leicester Road) where I stayed for 10 years!! I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse back in 2012 after completing my BSc (HONS) degree. After a few years, I gained my certificate in Emergency and Critical Care and worked nights in an emergency hospital which I thoroughly enjoyed!! These days you will find me at either Medivet Hinckley Roston Drive, Leicester Road or Coventry Road as practice manager.

I started my career as a veterinary receptionist in March 2017 working at Vets4Pets in Hinckley where I became Head Receptionist. I really enjoyed my role there but left in 2021 to work at Bell, Brown & Bentley vets as they offered me set hours. Whilst at Bell, Brown & Bentley I completed the Bronze, Silver & Gold BVRA award and became an Associate Veterinary receptionist. I moved to Medivet Roston Drive in May 2023 as it’s much closer to where I live and I can walk to work. I love working as part of the Medivet Roston Drive Team and meeting all the pets and their owners. In my spare time I enjoy walking, spending time with my 4 grandchildren and looking after our 4 cats and a dog.

Very happy with the treatment Bobbin, my Yorkshire Terrier, received from David Summers. It was Bobbins annual injection and Kennel Cough treatment. David has treated all our Yorkies over many years and I have always been satisfied with the care and attention given by him. Patricia Fisher.

Our dog had a loose, wobbly tooth. Appointment provided very promptly. Seen on time and vet Alan examined her. He felt he could quickly remove offending tooth, which he did. Great experience and advice given re dog’s weight. Cost was very reasonable- dog now on diet!

I have total confidence in the vet who sees my cat inasmuch as she is knowledgeable, caring and doesn't administer treatments for the sake of it. Update: the vet I used to see has left the practice. I recently took my cat to another vet in the practice and wasn't impressed. He has no idea how to handle a cat, he kept calling her "boy", he kept talking over me when I was trying to explain a number of issues I was concerned about and he made no comment about her weight which has been a concern in the past. I'm considering going to another vet but I've noticed that there has been a takeover by a big company who appear to have bought up all the veterinary practices in my area. My only other alternative is 'Vets for Pets' at the Pets at Home store. 2nd update More vets and receptionists have left, some through retirement, some for reasons not given. There is no lead vet and customers seem to be non existent. It wouldn’t surprise me if it just closes down eventually. Pity, it was always so good. 2025 update. Medivet is only interested in a corporate image and making money. There's absolutely no consistency in staff so my cat has been seen by a different vet each time I've taken her for her 6 month review. Even the receptionists are different every time I go to the practice. One vet was over zealous in how she examined my cat, another barely looked at her. I've had numerous emails trying to persuade me to have unnecessary treatment so I've unsubscribed. There's no personal service anymore but there's no point in going to another vet as they've all been taken over by Medivet in my area.

My visit could not have gone any better. The vet immediately recalled the concerns I had raised a fortnight ago. Fortunately, these have now been resolved. I felt unhurried and listened to.

We were seen earlier than our appointment which was good. The vet was very gentle with Coco before doing a thorough examination and the vaccinations were administered so quickly that she wasn't even aware what had happened. Perfect. She even got 2 treats so one very happy dog and owner. Very pleased with the whole experience.

I think they just see £ signs every time you walk through the door. You get conflicting information and conflicting prices from different members of staff. I absolutely would not recommend. If I could find another vet locally who could take us I would go.
