Meet our Partner, Kevin Wood
After initially training, and working, as a pharmacist at King’s College Hospital, I returned to university to study Veterinary Medicine at Cambridge Vet School. I have been Partner at Medivet Leigh-on-Sea since November 2021 after working at another local practice for 11 years. I have been lucky enough to work with VetAid on animal projects throughout Kenya, and have extensively travelled through Uganda, working with both chimpanzees and gorillas. Away from work, I follow West Ham United Football Club and attend most games, which is why I look glum most Mondays.... I also enjoy skiing and travelling.

Great practice and Nuno is an excellent vet but the prices are absolutely astronomical nowadays. With prices this high it makes me concerned for the well being of so many pets whose owners don’t have access to the funds needed for basic appointments and treatments.

All the vets are lovely, they explain everything clearly and are not only interested in the treatment but in your animal's personality and temperament.

I arrived at the clinic for my appointment only to realise I had the date wrong. I was already panicking because my cat’s nails had started to curl around her paw and were pressing into her pads. Despite being short‑staffed with only two nurses available, the receptionist took Misty through to be assessed, and they kindly trimmed her nails straight away. I was incredibly grateful that they helped her even though the mix‑up was my fault. The reception team were so friendly, reassuring, and helpful, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the care they showed Misty and I.

I was very impressed with the safe way the surgery is being operated during the Covid crisis whilst staying open to treat our pets. And most importantly I am always confident that my much loved cats are treated well by the vets. Thank you.

Cardiology
Our Lead Vet, Nuno, is a certificate holder in cardiology and takes both internal and external referrals. Our advanced technology also helps us understand and diagnose heart conditions.
The reception staff have always been lovely particularly Lesley and Ellie, I tend to always choose Nuno as my vet of choice as he is the most caring, supportive, sympathetic, knowledgeable and most importantly lovely with all our animals, he treats the animals as if they were his own. Nuno has been with us through the ups and difficult times supporting us through grief on many times and always been there to support us as a family as well.
