Meet our Partner, Dora Krol

I graduated in Veterinary Medicine in Wrocław, Poland, and began my career with Medivet as a new graduate. After developing my clinical skills further, I returned with a broadened perspective and a strong passion for delivering high-quality veterinary care. I have a particular interest in chronic disease management, especially cardiology and gastrointestinal health, and I am currently studying towards a Specialist Certificate in Small Animal Medicine. Outside of work, I enjoy family life in Lincolnshire with my husband, our three children, and our mischievous dog, Alfa. I value the balance between my professional commitment and the joy of home life.

I graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wrocław, Poland, and began my professional journey with Medivet as a new graduate. After gaining invaluable foundational experience, I ventured out to further hone my clinical expertise and have since returned to Medivet with a broadened perspective and renewed passion for delivering exceptional veterinary care. My special interests lie in managing chronic diseases, with a particular passion for cardiology and gastrointestinal health. I am deeply committed to internal medicine and find great fulfilment in supporting patients with complex or long-term conditions, always aiming to improve their quality of life through tailored, compassionate care. Always striving to grow, I am currently studying towards a Specialist Certificate in Small Animal Medicine at Harper Adams University, further advancing my clinical expertise. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy a vibrant family life in the heart of Lincolnshire, which I now proudly call home. When I moved to the UK, I soon fell in love – not only with the countryside but also with an Englishman who helped me put down roots. Together we are raising our three wonderful children and share our home with Alfa, our mischievous (but undeniably adorable) dog who keeps us all on our toes. Whether I’m exploring the local countryside with my family or curled up at home with Alfa by my side, I treasure the balance between my professional passion and the joy of family life.

Laura Blackburn

Client Care Assistant

Meet Laura - the heartbeat of the veterinary reception desk and a ray of sunshine on even the cloudiest Lincolnshire day. Born and bred in the beautiful countryside, she’s got that perfect mix of friendly chatter and a genuine love for animals (especially her two pampered pooches!). Before mastering the art of wrangling appointment books and soothing nervous pet parents, Laura sharpened her people skills in the world of orthodontics - making smiles brighter long before she was helping tails wag. She's certified in business administration and customer service, and it shows in every warm welcome and well-organised workday. But her favourite role of all? Super mum. Fiercely devoted to her kids, Laura brings that same energy, patience, and joy into everything she does. Whether she's hiking through the countryside, juggling the chaos of family life, or adding a quirky flair to her outfit (sparkly wellies, anyone?), she’s living proof that kindness, style, and laughter never go out of fashion.

Shannon Duke

Head Veterinary Nurse

Meet Shannon - A Registered Veterinary Nurse with over 12 years of hands-on experience (and probably just as many fur-covered uniforms). Shannon graduated Nursing School in 2019, and has come full circle- now back working with the Medivet family after time with a busy emergency out-of-hours provider, where she sharpened her clinical skills and learned that sleep is overrated, but caffeine is essential. Whether she is tackling a tricky case or comforting a nervous patient, Shannon does it with warmth, patience and her signature sense of humour. Known for being bubbly, kind and endlessly caring, Shannon is often found in the kennels snuggling recovering patients (who, frankly, seem to prefer her lap to their beds). Her approachable, calm nature makes her an ideal Head Nurse, leading by example and making everyone - human or animal - feel at ease. Back at Medivet Metheringham, Shannon is thrilled to be part of a supportive team where she can continue doing what she loves most: helping animals, and spreading a little sunshine in every shift. At home, Shannon is a devoted Mum to her daughter and the proud servant to three cats, who (in true feline fashion) let her, her husband, and their little one live in their house. Whether she is juggling school runs or sorting cat food preferences, she handles it all with humour and heart. In short, Shannon is the kind of nurse animals trust, clients love and colleagues rely on - and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Didn’t really get the advice needed and felt like the vet did not advocate for euthanasia in a deteriorating pet and suggested carrying on way beyond what I would deem acceptable for my pet. Despite that the vet is lovely and very caring.

We brought our dog Logan in recently and couldn't have been more impressed with the care he received. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that everyone at Medivets genuinely loves animals. Vet Dora was absolutely wonderful, calm, thorough, and clearly passionate about animal wellbeing. She took the time to explain everything carefully and made sure Logan felt as comfortable as possible throughout. You could tell this wasn't just a job for her; she truly cares about the animals. Sienna, the vet assistant, was equally brilliant. She was so gentle and reassuring with Logan, who can be a bit anxious at the vets, and her warmth made a real difference to how settled he felt. It's the kind of hands-on compassion that you can't fake, she clearly has a natural way with dogs. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this practice to any dog owner looking for a team that treats their pet like family. Thank you, Dora and Sienna, Logan (and we!) are very grateful.
