I visited Medivet Catford in Jan 2024 but I was registered with Medivet New cross at that time. My pet's treatment was amazing in Medivet Catford. I would infact personally want to thank the Vet for her brilliant management. To my surprise, I get an email in July 2024, a whopping 7 months later asking for me to pay outstanding balance. Now, I do understand that there was indeed an outstanding balance. How would I know it unless they tell me? I made the payment at the counter as any customer would, but they forgot to charge me for a test. This clearly shows that it was their mistake. I was happy to make the payment. I never said I wouldn't pay. I had to claim it in the insurance as it's a new charge levied on me after 7 months. Throughout this conversation, the tone was so confronting, the person on phone and on email persistently showed as if I was the one at fault for not paying it. It felt like they were trying to confront me for not making the payment! Expecting an apology for making me go through the payment and insurance again is far away from expectations. The people handling money need to understand that we are not running away with your money. Be civil when you deal with payment issues, especially when it's not customer's fault. BTW, I have made the payment even without proceeding insurance claims for the same. I hope Medivet New cross is happy with their 61£. Sorry for being so rude on the review, but this is how I felt when I spoke to your Debt collectors on phone.

I've always had amazing service at Medivet New Cross, the vets are so kind and thorough in their care and explaining aftercare. The reception staff are lovely and have always gone above and beyond when I've needed help - replying super quickly to emails and booking in last minute appointments. Would definitely recommend them

the worst vet I have ever been to in my entire life. My dog has been unwell for 1 week, I paid £300 for tests that took a week. They couldn't give them to me over the phone and I came personally to the vet and they didn't tell me what was wrong with my dog. I have to keep waiting to find out what's wrong with my dog. It is very frustrating because my dog is sick without knowing what I can do to him and here they just tell me very calmly to keep waiting. I am desperate to know what my dog has so I had to make an appointment that will cost me £50 more than what I have already paid to find out the results of some tests that cost me £300 because they can't tell me and the best way easy is to pay more I am very indignant. I want to emphasize that the employees were never rude but the way the clinic works seems horrible to me

I would like to say a big thank you to the staff who dealt with Bella(my dog). I don't think I could ask for any better. It's been a really hard day. I called medivet around 14:40pm. Frantically concerned about my dog. Spoke to a lovely gentleman who asked me to bring Bella in asap. I reached the vets at 15:00pm as an emergency and was seen quick. A lovely vet named David, helped with Bella. He did an exam on her. Making not only her but me feel comfortable. And Bella is not a vet kind off girl. But to my suprise she behaved, where normally she would growl and refuse to let anyone touch her. He was very patient and kind to her. He gave me his diagnosis and to put it mildly I felt my world crumble. Anyone that has an animal as part of a family knows you blame yourself. Hating what they are going through and wondering what I could of done differently. David reassured me that they could help Bella. They took her into surgery. As you could tell I was in bits, crying my heart out. A lovely lady that works on reception came and sat with me. I didn't take her name but she was compassionate and kind. I'm very glad that I came to medivet. From the phone call to picking up Bella this evening. I can't fault Medivet. And I'm very thankful and I appreciate Medivet for everything they have done.

Now that they are owned by a large chain, this practice has merely become a good vehicle for extracting more for a private equity company. This is reflected in the change in friendliness and not putting the pet (rather than needless appointments) at the heart of the process. When it was a family owned practice with John Hankinson, none of this nonsense happened but it has now become a very different place. Soulless, unfriendly staff, lax attitude to timeliness of them meeting appointments (I was rarely seen on time, once in 10 visits) and too many needless consultations and high prices mean I am moving to a new vets practice today, after 30 years of spending my money here. They will not receive a penny more, because the focus should be on the patient, not profit. It's pretty awful for the staff too - Medivet gets 2.7 out of 5 stars on Glass Door, so it's not a great place to work either, which comes out in the service. CVC Capital Partners are the only winners here, setting this up for one thing only - so I withdraw my support for them.

Was good until one year ago but I have experienced problems in the past consultations which made me think it's time to change the vet. 1) my cat developed cavity, had a 1000£ operation to remove only the affected teeth. After one month went for a check up and I was told that she was at risk to develop cavities again and all teeth should be removed, again paid 1000£ then when I picked up the cat the vet told me that he had removed only the affected teeth again. I told him that the second surgery was supposed to remove all teeth, seems like he didn't know this. Now if my cat develops again cavities on the teeth I need to pay again for the surgery! 2) At least 30 minutes waiting time from the appointment time, last time it took 1 hour and I got late for work. 3) I had my cat do the blood test to check if the current dosage of the medication for Hyperthyroidism is still right, only to be told, and it took more than one week, "sorry to let you know that your cat has Hyperthyroidism". So basically they did not check the reason why I asked for thr blood test, nor my cat history. And paid 180£ for this. I don't know what to do anymore...

2024 1 star Medivet Sadly since Medivet took over John Hankinson, its gradually got worse as each time I have gone there with our dog. Reception used to be such a warm place, now you dont know any of the receptionists as they keep on changing and the same can be said about the vets. The one star is based on how I was treated by their receptionist after getting my dogs annual check done. The vet himself had gone to get the dewormer and anti flea treatments as I was running low and its part of a plan. When about to leave the reception, the lady shouted "have you paid for those pills?", I told her it was part of the plan we had been on but she still insisted on checking as she did'nt trust me. After being a customer for so many years its time to find another neighbourhood vet as the soul has been ripped from this one. 2020 5 stars for John Hankinson Staff and clinic is a lovely place to take your pet. Never had a bad experience there and our dog Elvis always gets plenty of love whenever we go there

My family has used this practice for 30 years but our last visit was shocking. In one visit my dog was overdosed on his vaccinations including rabies due to vets failure to weigh my dog- he has lost weight. Vet then failed to prescribe flea treatments so I had to stand in reception and plead the receptionist to go back to vet and ask her to prescribe to save me booking another appointment. I was then given and charged for treatment for a 56kg dog. My dog weighs 3.6kg. I now have to wait for head office to contact me as refunds can’t be done in practice apparently. I asked when I would need a follow up appointment for rabies certificate and was told to google it myself and figure it out. I’m so so sad this practice has gone down hill. John Hankinsons was a great vet but MediVet has ruined this place

They always fit my pets in if there is an emergency. Just great staff all round. Hope Medivet is looking after them well. This one is after my cat’s heart scan who came home with a secret heart shaped “tattoo” to commemorate how brave he was. 🙃We only noticed at home.🤍
