I’ve been the lead vet here since August 2017. I graduated from Lisbon Technical University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, then completed an internship at Hannover University's School of Veterinary Medicine before starting to work in practice in the UK. Over the years I’ve developed an interest in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, and in December 2016, obtained the BSAVA's Post Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. I’m passionate about research into veterinary medicine and surgery and strive to offer the best advice and care available to my patients. Outside of work, I live in Lincolnshire with my wife, who is also a veterinary surgeon, and my two daughters.

Visited Medivet in Bretton yesterday with our cat for his annual check up and vaccination. Lovely friendly practice and we really appreciate the specific quiet cat corner with raised platforms for the cat box and blankets to ensure cats are kept calm. We were seen by Vlad-Florin who was very professional and gentle with our cat who is always stressed out after being in his cat box and in the car. Thank you to everyone at Medivet - we really appreciate how you take care of our cat and also for keeping in touch with us by email to offer useful help and advice.

I would strongly advise against bringing your beloved pets to Medivet. Our experience with both the Whittlesey and Bretton branches was a nightmare that nearly cost our dog her life, followed by appalling customer service. The Medical Negligence: We took our dog to Medivet Whittlesey after she started limping/holding her leg up after a park visit. A young vet prescribed Rheumocam, despite her being far too young for this medication. She immediately developed aggressive, severe diarrhea. Lack of Emergency Care: Because it happened over the weekend, we rushed her to their Bretton branch (the only one open on Sunday). The vet there completely dismissed our concerns, told us nothing was wrong, and said "it will pass." It didn’t. We spent the next month nursing her back to health ourselves after consulting other vets. She refused to drink, and we had to syringe water into her mouth every 10 minutes to keep her alive. The Excuse: When I later contacted management to complain about the incorrect prescription, they admitted the vet was wrong and told me he had already been terminated for other reasons. The Billing Nightmare: Because of this horrific care, I explicitly asked them to cancel our dog's yearly subscription, which they confirmed they would do. Fast forward six months: I received an email threatening debt collection/credit control if I didn't pay a remaining £87.50. When I called, the woman on the phone was incredibly rude, stating it "wasn't her problem" and that I had to pay, despite being fully aware of the medical negligence we went through. Medivet has literally zero care for pets. They prescribe dangerous medication to puppies, dismiss emergency symptoms, and then harrass you for money after promising your account was closed. Avoid them at all costs.
