Meet our Partner, Ian Ross
I graduated from Cambridge in 2000 and initially worked in mixed practice before moving into small animal veterinary work. After spending some time in India, I moved to the North West in 2010 and became a Partner at Medivet Ramsbottom in 2017. I hold a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP) and, although I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, my main interest is in medical cases.
Outside of work, I’m kept busy by my two children, two cats, four chickens and my wife, Kay! I’m an avid Liverpool FC fan and enjoy watching cricket. I also coach a local junior cricket team.
Meet our Partner, Kay Ross
I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2000 and spent two years in mixed practice in Preston, where I gained experience with calvings, lambings and all aspects of cow and sheep care, before moving into small animal practice. I then spent five years at the PDSA in Wolverhampton, where I developed an interest in surgery and treated plenty of Staffies! Since 2017, I’ve been a partner at Medivet Ramsbottom.
Outside of work, I’m kept busy by my two children, aged 12 and 10. My eldest loves cricket and football, while my youngest is a big Lego fan. In my spare time, I play softball cricket (if you can’t beat them, join them!) and badminton, and enjoy catching up with my school friends. One thing I definitely don’t enjoy? Standing on Lego!

Amazing care for my elderly cat .. look after the owners as well as the pets which gives confidence

Rather surprised to be offered an appointment today, just an hour on from my phone call. Our rescue cat Luna is overgrooming; a few fleas; Frontline and Spot-on no longer totally effective. Vet offered an alternative treatment system - 24 hours on and she is much calmer, no longer scratching and no repeated grooming, hoping the bare patches regrow soon. Thanks Medivet, totally recommend. Luna and her man.

The care and compassion that Marc gave to my cat recently when I had to put him to sleep was heartwarming. It was never going to be easy when your cat is 23 years old but the kindness and understanding from both Marc and the practice was marvellous. Especially in the crazy, sometimes non caring, world we now live in. Well done.

I have been with them for a couple of months now and my admiration grows each time. My cat recently had to be put down and the love, care and experience I experienced could not have been better. They have a lovely human touch!
