Ian Ross

Partner

Ian graduated from Cambridge in 2000, and initially worked in mixed practice before becoming a purely small animal vet. After spending time in India, he moved to the northwest in 2010, and became a Partner in Medivet Ramsbottom in 2017. He has two cats, four chickens, and two children (oh, and a wife - Kay). He has a Certificate in Advance Veterinary Practice (CertAVP), and although he enjoys all aspects of the Veterinary world, he prefers medicine. Outside of work, he is an avid Liverpool FC fan, and watches a lot of cricket (he also coaches a local junior team).

Kay Ross

Partner

Kay qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2000 and spent 2 years in mixed practice in Preston doing calvings, lambings and all other cow and sheep related things before moving into small animal practice. She spent 5 years at the PDSA in Wolverhampton where she developed an interest in surgery (and saw a lot of Staffies) and has been in partnership at Medivet Ramsbottom since 2017. Kay and Ian have 2 children who are 12 and 10. The eldest plays loads of cricket and football and the youngest is a Lego fan. In her spare(!) time she plays softball cricket (in the spirit of it you can't beat 'em join 'em) and badminton and likes to catch up with her schoolfriends. Her least favourite thing is standing on Lego.

For the last few years Marc has worked in small animal practice and obtained a certificate in Surgery. Other interests include orthopaedic lameness, neurology and acupuncture. Head Veterinary Nurse

I’m Gemma, I’m lucky enough to be the head nurse at Ramsbottom. I’ve been working in the veterinary world for over 20 years and have been a qualified nurse since 2013. I have a soft spot for our elderly patients and am extremely passionate about providing great patient care. I think it is important that the clinic is right in the heart of our community and that we all play our part in helping that community thrive. In my spare time, I look after a community garden, and volunteer for a local pathway conservation group. I am a bat carer and I am a trustee for a Bolton based charity.

My name is Carol and I have been a patient care assistant here for 21 years, dating back to the days of Mr Bonham. I have lived locally with my husband for 30 years plus and have 3 grown up children and now 4 grandchildren too! I have 2 cats, Cosmo the Maine coon and Luca the rescue cat, who was found abandoned here in Ramsbottom as a kitten, and soon became part of the family. After various part time jobs when the children were small, I decided on a career change and settled in here in 2002. I enjoy cinema, reading and foreign travel including recent trips to the Galapagos and walking the Inca trail.

I have been in the veterinary industry since 2020, although my love for animals most definitely predates that! I sadly don't have any animals of my own, but that just means all of my love and energy can go into yours. You'll likely find me cuddling the cats in the back, if not rolling around on the floor with the dogs.

Medivets in Ramsbottom is probably one of the best vets I've been to all the staff are lovely and they are great with our cats and understanding. When our Dizzy had to be put to sleep a year and half ago they knew it was a hard decision to make as it was a shock to learn she had kidney failure. We have had both our young male cats neutered there. But most of all Dr Marc Adipura is fantastic he helps care for our Lottie who is an old cat. He put her on senvelgo for her diabetes and she's doing great on it. She has more recently had to had surgery on her chin to remove a mass that was cancerous. Marc is truly supportive and looks after our Lottie. She still has cancer on her chin but is doing great she healed well after her surgery. Marc will fit us in whenever we need to take Lottie to see him. He truly is a great guy and a credit to Medivets. Thank you Marc for all you do

This practice is very caring and kind to all my pets. I recently lost my oldest Cait and they were so caring when it had to be euthanised. They took care of everything afterwards and were so kind about it. I highly recommend this practice to anyone in Ramsbottom or the surrounding area. Best practice ever.

considering the repeat problem with my pets skin, and prior treatment i was a little disappointed with the cost , the press have been taking note of vets costs and value. It was good to get a rapid response to my query and had the appointment within the morning which was good, thankyou.

All the staff and vets at Medivet Ramsbottom are exceptional . They are completely caring both for pets and their owners. They show such compassion and understanding towards every pet and their owners. They explain every aspect of any treatment required and offer every option available in an honest professional manner considering all personal circumstances for both the pet and their owners. The reception staff immediately take on the role of caring as soon as you arrive. They support both pets and their owners providing advice, reassurance and assistance for any pet needs. The vet Kay who treated my cat did everything she possibly could in treatment for my cat who needed surgery. The surgery enabled my cat to have a longer time to live for which i am eternally grateful. Kay is so professional and ensured I kept regular observation visits to check how my cat was and fully explained her medical condition at every visit. I am fully aware that everything possible was done to save my cat who's passing was made in the most loving kindest way possible with Kay who was completely understanding and compassionate for my cat and myself in facing such a difficult upsetting time.
An outstanding veterinary surgery who I cannot thank enough.
