Abbey Waygood

Veterinary Nurse

Abbey joined PetCare in May 2010 following a 2 year career break to start a family. She previously worked at Grove Lodge veterinary hospital in Worthing for over 11 years and brought with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. Abbey is now our Head Nurse within the practice. She works closely with the vets supporting consultations, monitoring pets during operations and does not leave her patients side during recovery and hospital stays. Her caring and dedicated disposition makes us feel very lucky to have her. She is a huge support to the nurses and over sees many of the clinical administrative tasks, which are key to the smooth running of the practice. At home, life is busy with her young family, her terrier cross Molly, Labrador Walter and leopard gecko, Bot. It may come as no surprise that she loves long relaxing dog walks and yoga! However, she is also a huge fan of live music.

Amy Radlett

Veterinary Nurse

We welcomed Amy to PetCare in June 2021. Since a small child she’s always wanted to be a veterinary nurse and achieved her goal and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2010. Having worked her way through animal care and management courses and various work experience placements, achieving her qualification, was a very proud day for her. She loves all animals but does have a special soft spot for cats Having recently returned to nursing since starting a family she lives at home with her partner Andrew and daughter Eloise. She also cares for two senior tabby cats called Alfie and Minty who live with her parents. Amy’s spare time is spent walking, either along the seafront or up the downs; she also loves a good read, knitting and baking, and when time allows, enjoys ballroom and Latin dancing, as a hobby. We feel very fortunate to have Amy as part of our nursing team here at PetCare; she is a real asset to our team, patients and their owners.

Amber Chapman

Veterinary Nurse

From an early age, Amber knew that she wanted to work and care for animals. Whilst at high school, she completed work experience at a local veterinary practice and shortly after decided upon becoming a veterinary nurse. After completing A-Levels in 2015, she was offered a place at Middlesex University to study veterinary nursing; however, needed to postpone her plans temporarily to raise her Son. Following her career break for family, she pursued her nursing dreams again in 2020, undertaking a degree in veterinary nursing at Plumpton College. She graduated in September 2023. We welcomed Amber to our team in May 2024 and she is looking forward to growing and developing her nursing skills further, alongside our supportive and knowledgeable team. At home, Amber shares her home with her 8-year-old son, Oscar, and their puppy, Marshall. In her spare time, she enjoys walks along the beach, reading, and going to the gym. She has a keen interest in surgical, emergency and critical care nursing, and would like to complete further qualifications in these areas in the future. She has also carried out some research of her own into veterinary CPR training protocols and hopes to have this publicised in the near future!

Myself and my family have used petcare for 30+ years. Unfortunately since being taken over by medivet I have lost all confidence in the practice, they have lost records, sent repeated text reminders for deceased pets vaccines/flea treatments etc which are upsetting to say the least. Rarely ever see the same vet and prices constantly increasing as service quality decreases.

I can't thank Yemisi, nurses, and all staff concerned for the wonderful care they gave to LuLu, our beautiful little dog who had to have an operation on Wednesday, because of their care she is making a great recovery. Thank you, ALL. xx 🐕

I was hesitant to write this review but I felt it necessary due to our bad experience. Firstly you never see the same vet twice, which means you can't build rapport but my main issue is that I booked in for a check-up for our labrador 2 weeks in advance and when we arrived we were told that the appointment wasn't actually booked and has somehow disappeared from their system. Our labrador always works herself up because she's not a fan of the vet anyway so to get her all the way just to be told that the appointment has disappeared was laughable. We even had a text reminder (for that day and time) come through while we were in the surgery which was even more ridiculous. Really not impressed.

I’m just so grateful to the staff that Betty my beloved cat went to her forever sleep in a calm, beautiful way. I was given as much time as I wanted to be with her and stroked her throughout. Thank you all so much for your kindness, professionalism and for just being so wonderful at such a difficult time. Thank you also for the sympathy card and little cards with Betty’s footprints on, I will treasure them always.
