From a very young age, I recollect following this person I admired in my village. He had gentle hands and a compassionate spirit. He was our village vet. He would welcome me to his house and we would talk about all things animals. That was the spark that defined my career and my whole life. Our house wouldn’t be very far off from a zoo. From dogs, cats, poultry, hamsters, rats and all kinds of birds (have you ever heard of a king quail?) and tropical fish. From there, it became natural to be a Veterinary Surgeon. I graduated in my home country, Portugal. Shortly after which I have moved to the UK where I have lived since. I have an amazing wife and a lovely daughter. Also a very chilled cat called Xanax. For the last 15 years have worked with small pet animals which has provided me vast experience while having had the chance to deepen my knowledge in some specific areas such as internal medicine and diagnostic imaging. I look forward to welcoming you at our Medivet Solihull branch where we will spare no efforts to provide you and your pet the best care.

Following my graduation from the University of Thessaly (Greece) in 2013, I moved to Germany where I worked at a referral hospital for 3 years. Since 2017 I have been living in the UK and have worked in several first and second opinion small animal practices across the country. I have special interests in ophthalmology and diagnostic imaging, including cardiac and abdominal ultrasound. Having acquired postgraduate certificates in both of these areas [GPCert(Ophthal), PgC(SADI)] I'm able to provide advanced services and offer a second opinion whenever is needed. Constant development of my skills and providing the best possible care to my patients has always been my priority. Outside of work I enjoy travelling and being with my family and friends.

I have been at the practice for over 2 years. I enjoy spending time with my mad spaniel Alfie and 2 rescue cats. I have a keen interest in emergency and critical care but love all things veterinary nursing. I spend my time in practice floating between consults, inpatients and theatre/ x-ray and you'll often see me on reception giving lots of cuddles to our patient's. I am also first aid trained, the radiation protection supervisor, fire marshal, health and safety supervisor and insurance administrator for the practice. Medivet Solihull has a great team of staff and we are always happy to welcome pets and client's alike, we know your pets are your family members and we treat them as if they were our own during their time here.

I have been in the Animal Care Industry for over 20 years, starting as a trainee veterinary nurse. I completed my training and gained qualified RVN status in 2001. Since then I have held a variety of roles at a range of practices in the West Midlands. I joined Medivet Solihull permanently August 2023 after a short locum period - we clearly liked each other! My principal interests are laboratory work and radiography when it comes to animals as well as being part of and contributing to a happy, productive team when it comes to humans. Despite my partner's protests I do have a habit of taking my work home with me - I have four dogs, two cats, fish and two giant African land snails. They are all rescues.

Very friendly staff and very informative and helpful. The only thing I was shocked at was the £3 a month raise in payments for the annual treatment.

I visited Medivet because I found a hedgehog in our garden that looked a little unwell. I took it there for some help, not knowing what to do. It turned out the hedgehog wasn’t unwell but maybe just a little too hot. They kept him in until I could collect and release him back into the wild. I think this is incredible in a world where no one does anything for free. I received updates about his health over the two days he was there. Given the amount of information and care provided, I would 100% use this vet if I had a pet. Thank you so much!

I visited Medivet today with my Shitzhu and had absolutely amazing service. The vet was brilliant, he did a thorough examination and talked me through everything and came up with a plan of action for our itchy dog. A big shout out to Fiona the receptionist who was so lovely, she’s always really helpful and always answers my queries. We had a great chat while she was sorting my bill out and it was a very pleasurable visit. Thank you so much Nicky B

I first came to Medivets in 2021 when it was Damson House vets and it seemed a much nicer practice, I do not think this is the case now. The vet Antonio who first saw me was great, very helpful and pleasant. The reception staff have always been professional and very helpful. Last week I bought my beloved pet cat Coco to the practice not realising he was as unwell as he was. Whilst the reception staff were very helpful, particularly one member of staff whose name I did not unfortunately get but she was on duty when I returned to collect my deceased pet and I could not fault her. However, sadly the vet Magda made an excruciatingly painful day just that little bit worse. Her demeanour was cold and she lacked any empathy, I hope the practice can and will reflect on this.
