I spend most of my time managing the practice and the wonderful team. Keeping everything running smoothly is more than a full time job. Most of my time is spent behind the scenes supporting the team, and clients. I particularly love the diversity and challenges that occur daily, and helping owners and their companions. Outside of work I am busy with three boys and keeping active.

We have been clients at Medivet Standish for the past few years now and have seen different vets with whom we have always been happy with, but out of choice we ask for Hillary, she is a fantastic vet! Having owed pets all my life I’ve experienced quite a few!!! 😁 She is friendly efficient and shows common sense, she has a vast knowledge of various cat breeds understanding their differences, which is really refreshing, we really trust her judgement and advice.

We were made to feel welcome on arrival by the assistant on reception who also showed an interest in all the owners and pets on arrival which was nice.

The vet was really friendly and great with my kittens on their initial check. The only negative I would say really is that I wasn't greeted on arrival by the receptionists, I was ignored for a while until they finally asked who I had brought and took details. Then once the vet had seen my cats, I then went and stood back at reception to make sure everything was fine for me to leave, and again I was ignored for a while before they finally asked the names again and told me everything was good and there was no payment needed. I think anyone working on a reception should at least have the basic skills to know to greet people on arrival, even just to say hello, if they are too busy to deal with you in that moment.

It would be good to have a separate waiting area for cats, away from dogs, but I understand this might not be possible given space constraints.

We have 2 anxious dogs which is why we book an early appointment time for their immunisations and healthchecks.
For the 3rd time running there was significant delay to the appointment time which only serves to increaee their anxiety levels.
On Saturday the most recent occassion our appointments were 9.00 & 9.15, we arrived at 8.55 - we were called in at 9.55.
Furthermore, we always request the spot-on flea treatment and always give 48 hours as requested. Yet we are always only given the chewable tablet with the option of coming back for the spot on option - which means a further trip.
Im actively looking for an alternative healthcare provider for my dogs.
