Meet our Partner, Alex Statie

I qualified in Romania in 2014 and worked for two and a half years with both large and small animals, before moving to Liverpool. I became the Lead Vet here at Medivet Aigburth in January 2019, after working for Medivet throughout the Liverpool region. I then became the Partner here in the August of 2019. I have a special interest in soft tissue surgery and working through complicated cases. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and travelling. At home I have two cats, one called Blackie and one called Pumpkin.

I graduated with a Bsc Geography degree in 2016 which allowed me to explore the world around me. I was then fortunate enough to be offered a position by Medivet as a Patient Care Assistant in 2021, enabling progression onto my Veterinary Nurse training in September 2022. I enjoy consults and building a rapport with both patient and client to provide the best possible care. In my spare time, I am a member of the Army reserves and I have a Border Collie cross called Riley who loves kayaking and playing with the water pistol.

I have recently graduated with a BSc in Animal Behaviour, and have worked for a local Animal Rescue for two and a half years. After dealing with complex medical cases in both wildlife and domestic animals at the rescue, I realised my passion lies with assisting animals in a veterinary setting. I was then fortunate enough to be able to move towards my passion as I was offered a position as a patient care assistant here at Medivet Aigburth. At home I have a tortoise called Frank, a dog called Max and a kitten called Ocean, who I hand reared from two days old.

I began my journey at Medivet Aigburth as a Patient Care Assistant, where I spent two years before moving into referral practice and hospital work. Now training as a Student Veterinary Nurse, I have developed a particular passion for inpatient care and anaesthesia. One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is supporting patients through their recovery and helping them feel comfortable. Outside of work, I enjoy playing the cello and piano and at home I am kept busy by my two mischievous parrots, Bonnie and Clyde.

I've had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember. This led me to complete a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management, where I had the opportunity to work hands-on with a wide range of species. I'm now working towards my degree in Veterinary Nursing, continuing to build on my experience and knowledge every day. I have a particular interest in exotic animals and spend much of my free time caring for my geckos and my hamster, Monkey.

I popped in twice last week, firstly to register my pet and the second time to book an appointment.
My pet had his appointment yesterday and the vet was very friendly and explained everything carefully. I popped back in earlier today to book a weight management appointment.
Every time I have visited during the last week the staff have been helpful and friendly. Also there have never been any times when lots of dogs have been barking loudly or cats meowing in the waiting room.Possibly I have just been lucky so far.

I have been with Medivet Aigburth for around 2 years and I couldn't recommend the practice any higher; the staff are amazing! They are welcoming, friendly and genuinely care about the animals. My cat is, fortunately, quite agreeable with being examined etc but the vets are caring and genuine; they always listen and provide knowledgeable and empathetic support. My cat isn't too fond of male staff! But Alex was very patient with her anxiety and was caring and compassionate with her, despite her objections! The prices are about the same as any other vets but I would highly recommend their health plan as when it comes to annual injections or flea and worming solutions, there's no cost to pay on the day as it's all included. Overall, the best thing about this practice is the staff; they are an a
absolute credit to Medivet and probably don't receive anywhere near the praise they deserve. On behalf of myself and Moggy, thank you for all you do.

Given a date that the prescription would be ready for, turned up on said day to be told its not ready as there is a note that the vet wants to see the pet before but nobody thought to contact me to tell me this so not only was it a wasted journey, I had to take more time to go back for the vet to say yes she is healthy (which I knew as if I had any concerns I would have made an appointment to get her checked) and sign two pieces of paper ... almost £100 later for two pieces of paper and a quick look over by the vet. Total rip off and have already started looking at other places to take my pet in future.
Very disappointed by the last visit

All of the vets are always really kind and loving to our dog, really friendly but professional and they always fit you in at an appropriate time. We have had several check ups and an operation and everything has always been really easy. I could not recommend this vets practice highly enough.
