Charlie Astle

Lead Veterinary Surgeon

I'm the Lead Vet at Medivet Lawley! I graduated from Liverpool Vet School 11 years ago and also have a science degree and masters from Cambridge University. I am passionate about animals and love all aspects of my job, especially internal medicine and soft tissue surgery! Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my son George, going on long walks with my dog Buddy and playing netball and rounders!

Christine Beaver

Veterinary Surgeon

Christine Beaver

Veterinary Surgeon

I moved to the UK in 2013 from New Zealand, where I grew up as a dual national as my mother is English. I attended Massey University and graduated in 2009 with a BVSc. I started working with Medivet in early 2021 and enjoy nearly all aspects of general practice vet work, although I am especially interested in soft tissue surgery, wound management, dentistry, ophthalmology and animal behaviour. I live with my husband and rescue terrier Peanut, and in my spare time enjoy gardening, art, doing anything with animals and going on long dog walks with friends (ideally to a pub)!

Georgia Newson

Veterinary Surgeon

Georgia Newson

I'm Georgia, one of the Veterinary Surgeons here at Lawley! I graduated recently from the University of Liverpool and have a particular interest in internal medicine and anaesthesia. Outside of work, I love to cook new recipes, go swimming and look after my little niece!

Kate Morgan

Head Veterinary Nurse

Kate Morgan

Head Veterinary Nurse

I have worked with Medivet for 2 years now. I initially started as a mobile nurse across all of the Medivet branches before becoming the Head Nurse at Lawley. I enjoy the diverse nature of nursing; no day is ever the same! I love seeing all the dogs and cats and I have a particular interest in small mammals and exotics. Having completed the small mammal module of the exotics certificate, I am currently pursuing the reptile module. Additionally, I am completing the ISFM Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional course and I am working towards making our practice a cat-friendly clinic. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family going on walks and days out and I like to unwind by cuddling up on the sofa with my five cats.

Lauren Armstrong

Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse

Lauren Armstrong

Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse

I'm Lauren and I'm the Deputy Head Nurse here at Lawley! I originally started working with Medivet as a Patient Care Assistant back in 2018! I soon gained a permanent position at another branch, where I would start my Veterinary Nursing training. I moved to the Lawley branch over 3 years ago and later qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in June 2021. I am a clinical coach, meaning I support and guide our student nurses through their training and help them to achieve their qualification. Also, I have just gained my Nutritional Ambassador status with Hills, so I'm on hand to give you the best advice for your pets diet! At work, I am particularly interested in surgical nursing and anaesthesia and hope to one day complete a certificate in these areas. Outside of work, I love to travel, explore and I have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (one is a rescue!) who both keep me very busy!

Ginny Meldon

Student Veterinary Nurse

Ginny Meldon

I'm Ginny and I'm one of the student nurses here at Lawley, currently in my second year of training! I have worked with Medivet for over 4 years, starting as a mobile Patient Care Assistant and progressed onto becoming a permenant member of the team at Lawley over two years ago, then becoming a student nurse. I have my own fur baby called Bear, who is a domestic short haired cat that I rescued. I have a keen interest in behavioural studies and will be looking at completing a certificate once I have finished my studies. In my spare time, I enjoy going for long walks up hills and reading!

Samantha Wake

I'm Sam, a second year veterinary nurse student! I've been with Medivet for three years; before I started my training at Lawley, I was a mobile PCA, across the region. My favourite thing about being a nurse is anaesthesia, inpatient care and lab work! In my spare time I like to travel, and discover new places!

Fantastic, friendly and supportive service - its clear that all the team go above and beyond to keep our aging pooch going. In fact since first taking him to Medivet Lawley in August his overall condition has significantly improved - not bad for a 12 year old lab.

1st things 1st the staff here are amazing. They are polite, kind and animal lovers can not fault them one bit. Have always made our animals feel welcome and loved whatever they have come in for. The 4 star review is due to confusion in billing. We took our dog in to have her ears seen to. We were then prescribed ear drops and cleaner to try and sort the infection out which we were asked to pay before leaving. We returned 2 weeks later to be told the treatment hadn't worked and antibiotics was the next step. No problems with that and we were asked to pay before leaving and return in 2 weeks to see if the antibiotics had worked. 2 weeks later we returned and all was fine brilliant. So we left and carried on with normal life. 2 weeks later we were then phoned asking for £50 as our dog had been seen to by the vets. This is where the issue comes in. We were never told checking to see if medication you prescribed has worked would be billed to us. Also you asked to see our dog so should of been informed this would have been billed to us before we returned. Finally when we left after the vet took less than 5min to check if antibiotics had worked we wern't informed to pay any bill before leaving. In the future, if you are going to charge for a service or medication, the owners should be told in advance so they have all the information to make an informed decision. Not find out they owe money they were unaware of by phone.

We couldn't ask for better service or support from all the staff during a very difficult time with our cat. Thanks to all the staff for the support given during this sad time.
