I joined Medivet Shrewsbury practice straight after graduating in 2013. I’d never lived in Shrewsbury before but having moved here it has very quickly felt like home. I have been Branch Partner since July 2017 and it has flown by. I have completed my Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice and I’ve just enrolled on a further certificate in surgery. I have three dogs – a border terrier and two cocker spaniels – a cat, and have recently started keeping some marine fish. In my spare time, I enjoy weightlifting.

I have been working at Medivet Shrewsbury for three years and thoroughly enjoy the hustle and bustle of hospital life. After qualifying in 2015, I eventually returned to my hometown of Shrewsbury and started here at Medivet. I have many pets including three dogs, two cats, two rabbits and a horse named Toffee. I have also recently started keeping marine fish. I love being outside walking the dogs or riding my horse. I’m always keen to further my skills so I aim to enrol onto the Advance Veterinary Nursing course this year.

I began working in a Telford-based practice in 1999, before moving to Staffordshire to start my Senior Veterinary Nurse training. I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2003 at a veterinary hospital. I started working at Medivet Shrewsbury in 2011 as Head Nurse, and now since having my children, I work part-time as the Senior Clinical Nurse. My interests are all things surgical. I enjoy theatre work and emergency cases especially, but I love all aspects of my job. I am currently studying towards a Nurse Certificate in Anaesthesia, which I'm loving. I have a lovely dog called Flo.

I started working at Medivet Shrewsbury as a Veterinary Care Assistant in June 2015 and I’ve recently passed my OSCEs and become a Qualified Veterinary Nurse. I previously lived in Australia for a couple of years working as a Veterinary Receptionist, which sparked my keen interest to become a Veterinary Nurse. I have two cats called Tallow and Roo and two dogs called Fox and Panda. Outside work, I enjoy playing sports, such as netball and rounders, and running with my dog Fox. I'm also a professional silversmith, hand-making silver jewellery including custom memorial pieces.

I have been at Medivet Shrewsbury for just over 10 years, having qualified in 2019 and grown up in the area. As well as my own dogs and two cats, I also look after two dogs every day and we enjoy going on long walks together.

I have worked at the hospital for six years after moving here from Merseyside, where I worked in retail management. Moving to the countryside and changing career has been the best decision for me and my family, including my cat Peggy and my terrier Fizz, who loves to come walking with me to explore the area. Outside work, I love to travel and experience different cultures.

This doesn't allow me to award no stars, but avoid like the plague if you value your pets. First and last time of visiting this practice, in 40 years of using vets, never have I experienced such an arrogant and uncaring vet, as the one I experienced here. Wanted to do surgery on my dog, thank god I trusted my gut instinct and sought a second opinion at another vet practice. At this surgery I got another opinion from, they treated me and dog with nothing but kindness and compassion, something Medivets could do with taking a lesson in, with how to treat and talk to your customers. More importantly it transpired my dog DID NOT NEED AN OPERATION, and is right as rain now. It is beyond words that you put money first before animal care. Thank god I was able to find another practice, who put ethics first.

We sadly had to take our deceased dog here, which is not our usual vets. However, I have nothing but praise for the vet who spoke to us. I think his name was Maurice? He had compassion and took the trouble to explain to us, what he felt the cause was. Thank you, your chat helped us so much. I would not hesitate to recommend this veterinary practice.

Took my cocker spaniel to have his anal glands removed, I was really worried about the outcome after reading it can leave them without any control over their bowel movements & after having so much trouble with his previous vets. He’s been getting worse overtime with this and also feeling very uncomfortable. I am so so happy with the results after his operation on Friday, he’s able to go to the toilet with all control, the vet Simon has done an amazing job, it’s neat and clean & my boy is so much happier already!! Thank you Simon for everything!

Our cat Keith was admitted as an emergency Sunday night. Throughout his admission we were continuously updated. Staff explained everything thoroughly and coherently. We feel very lucky that Keith was cared for so kindly, until he sadly died. We will be forever grateful for all the staff’s hard work that tried to save him. A special thank you to Beatrice for your kindness and compassion. You were all excellent. Thank you so much.

I visited this practice but under bad circumstances as my pet was dying. The reception staff we're very good plus the nurses and the two vets I saw seem to know what they were doing. I would recommend this practice especially for out of hours service.

Got quoted a price on Saturday so booked my dog in for this morning and then found out it was a wrong quote and the price had doubled. To say I'm pi%%ed off is a misunderstanding. DISGRACEFUL
