Eliza and Vicky are just the best and are ever so patient and caring. I have two scared dogs and they both need different handling. After lots of socialising going in and being weighed they are getting used to being there. Poppy and Hugo say thank you xx

Brilliant, friendly and professional staff who act swiftly in the interests of the pet and owner. Eliza and Duncan are fantastic vets and Vicky is a wonderful nurse. This fantastic team saved my bunny’s life!! Eliza at Shawbirch was brilliant with Dom and secured him a operation next morning. Both she and Vicky were so communicative and reassuring. Also, Duncan at Oakengates was fantastic when Dominian had his operation. Your staff are brilliant.

Local pet friendly practice that is both welcoming and reassurring

I truthfully couldn’t recommend highly enough! Not only are the team fantastic with my dogs, they’re so courteous, warm and professional. Top drawer! My boy attended puppy parties, hosted but Shophie Byrne, and absolutely loves attending the practice. My Blue staffy has complex needs: he has had two ops on right back leg and he also has allergies; treated with a maintainable jab, monthly. We do require veterinary assistance, regularly. We also have a rescue staffy pup who, so far, enjoys good health, but has been spayed. Two weeks ago, we had an emergency and my husband was rushed, from GP surgery via ambulance, to hospital. I had to take some belongings to him and had my blue boy with me. When he saw his “dad” he wouldn’t move and was crying, I had no idea how I was going to get him home. He just refused to move. As he’s 28kg and built like a tank, I was in trouble. As we were only over the road from Medivet Shawbirch, I had an idea. I was able to coax him across the road. Once outside the vets, he was really eager to get inside! Georgia came to the door and she and Eliza were happy to let him in. I looked through the door to see them playing with my boy on the floor. This made what was an extremely distressing and worrying situation so much easier to cope with. They kept him until my husband was on the way to hospital, then brought him out to me. As he’d been distracted and kept occupied, I was then able to walk him home! Both Georgia and Eliza were absolutely lovely and offered to keep him for longer! My husband was in hospital for a few days, very unwell, but is now fully recovered. The relationship between veterinary staff and owners of pets is paramount in terms of establishing trust and peace of mind. The team is outstanding and my blue staffy boy is always most eager to attend the surgery. I know both he and my rescue staffy are in great hands! Thanks so much!

Such a wonderful practice, staff so friendly professional and welcoming. Our puppy was also greeted with lots of love and brilliant care and attention. Very informative too with all the appropriate information needed for a new pet, in a relaxed non pressured manner. Well done Shawbirch Medivet x
