I am originally from Italy, where I studied at the University of Bologna before moving to the UK. I started working in a busy charity and then joined the Medivet family at Watford. I have always loved surgery, and achieved a Postgraduate certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2015 and an Advanced PG Certificate in Orthopaedic surgery in 2019. Outside work I love travelling and sports in general such as climbing and kayaking. I also have a very sweet cat at home called Marcella, and a very cheeky dog called Bruno.

I qualified from Liverpool University in 2007 and went on to gain my Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Small Animal Medicine in 2014. I am one of the main consulting vets in Watford but also perform a lot of ultrasounds and imaging. I really enjoy talking to owners and helping their pets when they come for a heath check or if they're poorly. I know personally how much our pets are part of the family; my children and I dote on our two rehomed stray cats, Sebastian and Pulga.

I have been with Medivet ever since and have worked permanently in the Watford Hospital since 2016. I have recently completed my certificate in Advanced Veterinary practice and enjoy all areas of internal of internal medicine, but have a particular interest in endocrinology. I also enjoy abdominal Ultrasonography. I spend my spare time at the gym, baking, and walking my terrier cross Bernie.

Poor Attention and Overpriced Clinic I found their level of care and attention to be very disappointing. Maybe it’s because they are a large clinic with many patients, but it shouldn’t be an excuse. For a wound caused infection that could have been treated with antibiotics, they immediately pushed for a CT scan and surgery, quoting around £6,000. Only after insisting did they agree to try antibiotics. Once home, a large amount of pus drained from my cat’s wound, and thanks to the antibiotics, my cat fully recovered! Shockingly, during my cat’s 3-day stay, they didn’t even check the wound on his head—despite us mentioning it multiple times. I’ve had to visit this clinic 7-8 times purely due to its location, but each experience has been frustrating. It’s an expensive clinic that initially suggests numerous tests without explaining their necessity. When I questioned some tests, they said they’d check but later decided not to do them—leaving me wondering why they were suggested at all. Even worse, you need to call them repeatedly to get test results like bloodwork or cultures. Another issue is the lack of consistency. Different staff handle each visit, and they often seem unaware of my pet’s previous treatments. I had to remind them multiple times to avoid repeated, unnecessary tests. Lastly, their handling of insurance was inconsistent. In one visit, they claimed the cost directly from my insurer. But on another, despite prior agreements, they refused without explanation, asking me to pay upfront and file the claim myself. While the clinic might have its good sides, I never experienced them. I’ve since switched to a nearby clinic, which offers far better care and guidance at half the price.

Overpriced and Uncaring Clinic I had to take my cat to this clinic as I was new to the area, but it turned out to be a frustrating experience. I later found out their prices are nearly double compared to other, more attentive vets nearby. The staff seemed indifferent throughout. On multiple occasions, they suggested tests but backed off when I questioned the necessity—without providing a solid explanation, which made me lose trust in them. Getting test results was also a hassle. They promised to call when results were ready, but I never experienced that. I had to follow up myself, as they rarely respond to emails. Overall, their level of care was disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend them, especially when better options are available for a fraction of the price.

Review of Medi Vet (Stanmore and Watford) It is after a lot of thought and a heavy heart that I am writing this review about Medi Vet Stanmore and Watford. It’s been about a month since our beloved Pomeranian dog, Lalu, tragically passed away under the care of Medi Vet. He was 6 years old. After the initial shock and heartbreak, we have now looked more closely at what happened, and it’s even more devastating to realize that it was preventable by a simple course of antibiotics for the small cut he had on his paw in which a small seed MAY have been embedded. Medi Vet decided to operate on Lalu and he was was sedated with strong drugs that ultimately caused his heart to stop. After consulting with an independent veterinary practice, we learned that the condition he was being treated for did not require surgery. A simple course of antibiotics would have sufficed. What happened to Lalu was completely unnecessary. I now understand that Medi Vet, a franchise, is known for over-treating pets, which feels like it’s motivated purely by financial gain. They seem to prioritize unnecessary treatments to charge more, without considering the well-being of the animals. This review serves as a warning to other pet owners: be EXTREMELY cautious when seeking treatment from Medi Vet. Make sure to consult other professionals before agreeing to any procedures. Losing Lalu was and still is a painful experience, and we hope no other pet owner has to go through what we did. I also kindly ask Medi Vet that you refrain from sending a standard reply to my review. Receiving a generic response asking me to contact your reviews email would feel dismissive and only deepen my disappointment. My intent is not to criticize without purpose, but to encourage meaningful change. I truly hope you can reflect on this feedback and prioritize the well-being of the animals over monetary considerations. This is a matter of genuine care for animals that deserve compassion and responsible treatment

I am a subscriber to the health plan, but I consistently incur additional charges during my visits. When I inquire about these charges, the receptionist struggles to provide an explanation and resorts to typing on her laptop for an extended period. Despite their promise to contact me with an explanation, I have yet to receive any communication unless I initiate the call. Additionally, I often experience lengthy wait times for my appointments, exceeding 20 minutes past the scheduled time. This causes anxiety for my cat, and when I express my concern to the receptionist, she displays a lack of empathy and merely reiterates that they are unaware of the veterinarian's availability.

We had an experience here a year ago with our cat. The staff here were really unfriendly + robotic when we were extremely worried about our cat on an emergency visit. It seems this veterinary practice cares more about making money than the actual care of pets. Some of the vets are ok, but a lot of the staff are rude and clearly do not care. Be careful going here, the staff here just add more stress if you need to take your pet in an emergency.

Seriously disappointed with the robotic admin staff who show little empathy or compassion at Watford - I guess to them its just another day at work, forgetting the emotional load being suffered by animals and their owners. Conversely, Medivet in Radlett have an amazing team of wonderful people looking after pets and owners - maybe they could give Watford some training???
