David Potter

Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

As an orthopaedic surgeon I qualified as a vet in 2001 and joined the Easthampstead practice. I then moved to Wokingham in 2018 alongside Hayley Fordyce. I own two cats called Nightingale and Sooty, who were left outside the Easthampstead practice as kittens, as well as a tortoise called Mo. I met my wife at choir practice; my children now spend their time singing in the same choir.

Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

Chris Felstead

Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2009, then cycled the famous Lands' End to John O’Groats route to raise funds for a volunteering trip to the Indian animal charity TOLFA. I then spent my first year in a Lincolnshire mixed practice, before switching to solely small animal work in Suffolk for 3 years. I then led a small practice in Bracknell for 6 years where I achieved my Certificate in Small Animal Medicine. I am now Branch Partner and Lead Vet for Medivet’s busy 24-hour Wokingham hospital, growing a team of skilled colleagues, forging trusting relationships with clients, and developing an advanced healthcare service for their pets. I enjoy exploring the British countryside with my wife and 2 daughters, and have Lily the Pets As Therapy Springador, Sprout the cat and Twix the guinea pig.

I am originally from Tenerife, Spain and I qualified there as a vet in 2019. As soon as I finished my studies I came to the UK, where I have been working hard on small animal medicine and surgery; which I love. I get the most enjoyment out of laparoscopic bitch spays, so I have decided to start my postgraduate certificate in Endoscopy and Endosurgery. I have two lovely tabby cats that live with my family in Spain. I love being in the UK and l always find time to discover beautiful places with my partner.

I’ve been a veterinary nurse for the best part of twenty years, but with Medivet only for the last year. I decided to leave day practice when I fell in love with critical care emergency work at night. I have a background in referral oncology nursing and completed two years at Fitzpatricks. In my spare time I love to take care of other peoples pets who aren’t unwell. It’s a totally different side to animal care and I really do love it

Normally excellent but new receptionist staff not as helpful and kind as previously. Hopefully they will improve with a little more experience and training.

Our 12 year old Labrador went downhill very quickly. The vet and nurse from Wokingham were with us quickly, took him to the hospital, assessed him and had the results, albeit devastating, to us within hours. We were given all of the information we needed. Sadly he was put to sleep late that afternoon yet the last thing he saw were the faces and loving smiles of me, my wife and our daughters. It was out first experience of losing a dog which, although it has left us heart broken, I would trust these people and this place with your beloved pet without any reservation.

This morning I tried 4 times to book an appointment from 9.30 to 10.30 only to be put on hold which I don’t mind for at least 6 mins only to be answered with we’re only dealing with emergencies can I call back? so why didn’t the receptionist tell me this in the first place rather than having me on hold ? Tried again and again on hold answered by someone who asked me what I wanted I said I’d like to book an appointment was cut off and put back on hold really.. finally got through and yes I was frustrated only to be lectured by the receptionist about how busy she is and there are lots pets that have sadly died and lots of pets with emergencies which I can understand so why doesn’t the practice have a bereavement counsellor so as the receptionist can get on with booking appointments, we’re all very busy people and my dog has massive allergies so he could of been an emergency but I’d prefer to prioritise animals that really do need treatment I felt like I was an inconvenience to them today only trying to get an appointment for my dog .. it really does need addressing sorry but you are there to help. ??

We had a complicated spay, won’t go into the details but vet Charlotte really did a fantastic job and helped me weigh up the pros and cons of the decision for Ivy. She respected my wishes and Ivy’s circumstances and did an incredible job. The whole team has been fabulous, thank you so much
