I grew up in Devon and Cornwall and always wanted to be a vet. I graduated from Liverpool University in 1998. I met Gareth my husband at university and we both worked in mixed practice for the first 2 years after qualifying. We then worked in India for 6 months mostly neutering and rabies vaccinating dogs. The following few years we locumed at a busy first opinion small animal practice in the Midlands interspersed with travelling. I always wanted to get back to the South West and the sea, and we moved to North Devon in 2003. We have 3 teenage children, 2 dogs, a cat, 2 tortoises and a chicken. My interests at work, as well as routine surgery, are in behaviour and chronic pain and am able to offer acupuncture and pain clinics. Outside of work and the family I am a member of Appledore Pilot Gig rowing club. To keep sane I enjoy cold water swimming all year round and practice yoga. I run to keep fit and enjoy taking our dogs on long walks in beautiful North Devon.

Our rescue dog Goldy had to go in for dental clean and had 5 teeth extracted. Whilst under sedation they also did her annul glands and clipped her claws. Excellent service and very caring. 16th July, 2024 another visit to the vets today and another tooth gone as it was fractured and a big dental clean. She has gum disease and therefore needs daily brushing and gum treatment to keep it at bay or she will be back again, so whether she likes it or not it is going to be part of her daily routine. Once again great service from all at Medivet and kept us well informed.

Friendly reception staff, friendly nurses. Gave me all the information I needed to know before my animal went in for surgery. On pick up, again I was given all the aftercare info I needed and had any questions I asked answered. There was a £60 difference from the price I quoted for the surgery as they only give the price of the surgery and do not include the pain meds after that they will need, so just be aware of that. Still all in all a great vets that I have used for years.
