Patient Care Assistant

I started working as a patient care assistant in January 2021 at Epsom Fir Tree branch and then moved over to Morden branch about a year ago where I'm really enjoying my time. I absolutely love building relationships with our patients and their human parents and have a passion for delivering a high level of patient care. I have a university degree in criminology with psychology. I am hoping to train as a veterinary nurse in the future. In my spare time I like walking dogs for neighbours, arts and crafts and reading.

Practice Co-ordinator & Patient Care Assistant

I have over 20 years experience in the veterinary industry after joining the practice in 1998. My role here is practice coordinator and patient care assistant. I look after the insurance claims in branch and manage the day to day running of the practice, along with caring for our patients that visit for routine appointments or who are coming in for procedures. I enjoy building good relationships with the local community and in my spare time I like to unwind with my family and Hydie, my Cornish Rex who is 17 years old.

Melinda Parfitt

Veterinary Nurse

I have been working in veterinary since 2011 as an animal care assistant in both private practice and charity vets and in 2020 with Medivet had the opportunity to begin a veterinary nursing course. I qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in December 2022. I also have qualifications in canine behaviour and bereavement support. I thoroughly enjoy my work and have a keen interest in feline and canine behaviour. I will be looking into extending my knowledge in further nursing as well as training other students to become veterinary nurses. I enjoy long walks, cooking and I have a large allotment with my husband which takes up a lot of our spare time.

Amazing vets! We felt very welcome and were greeted with friendly staff. Our little Storm will definitely be going there in future. The practice has a lovely feel about it, you can tell they actually care!

Would not recommend. I believe that I was not listened to and my dog’s symptoms/illness was not taken seriously enough until it was too late, died of undiagnosed sepsis due to septic shock at 3 years old despite being symptomatic B 17/09/22šŸ’” I complained about care she received from a particular person and the company was very defensive and then stopped communicating all together. I asked for proof of second opinion ( as they claimed they had another vet review the case) of my dogs case after her death and was never provided with any evidence of this. Escalated to RVC. The nurses and some vets were lovely! And some very caring and supportive after the sudden dead of my pup. However I trusted certain professionals with the life of my precious pup and am still to this day heartbroken over the outcome! How I kick myself that I didn’t push harder or take her to another vet! A certain vet here needs to listen to owners more, refer out to specialists instead of ā€œwaiting to seeā€ , develop their knowledge of animal care especially larger breeds .

When I called with concerns about my cat who was lethargic and breathing erratically they asked me to bring him in rather than wait for an evening appointment. We were seen promptly and he was examined thoroughly- luckily it was nothing serious. We have always had great care from Miss Pitt Bailey and the rest of the team.

Our beloved dog, Lottie, needed to go to sleep and cross the Rainbow Bridge on 24th July. The staff at Morden Medivet were absolutely amazing. They took us straight through to a specially prepared room, the Rainbow Room, and we were allowed to spend as much time saying our goodbyes as we needed. I think we were there for about an hour and a half. Everyone was so kind, compassionate and professional. The staff joined us in our tears and gave us much needed hugs when we left. The staff truly do care about the animals and their owners. We went to collect Lottie’s ashes yesterday and straight away Claire jumped up to give us a hug and to offer kind words of condolence. Lottie was looked after by the same vetinary practice for 14 years. I have nothing but words of praise and thanks. Thank you.

I recently moved to this practice because I started feel unsure about my previous practice when their ownership had changed. I have 2 cats. My 15 year old cat had 6 teeth taken out this week and was surprised to see the difference in the effect between the same operation she had at the previous place. Both my cats had previously had the same operation. Each time they came back looking very tired and smelled of strong sterilisar which lasted for a few days. But this time she came back behaving and smelling normal (only slight smell) and no bleeding. Ii must’ve been the result of their caring work. I’m very pleased to have moved to this practice. Thank you!
